5 Tips to make the most of a Business Exhibition & Expo as a Delegate.

Well I've been to a dozen exhibitions & expo's over the past few months & realised the smart networking enthusiasts do these 5 things. It has worked wonders for myself.

  1. Pre-Plan - Many of the exhibitors are advertising on social media. Follow the #hashtag & connect with people to meet up. It's also a great opportunity to create a conversations with the credible speakers in the room. It's a great place to start.
  2. Don't run around and try to network with everyone by giving out business cards. It's time for you to have meaningful conversations with exhibitors and delegates. It's an amazing opportunity to network and find more powerful leads to follow up.
  3. Schedule out your day! So from seminars to exhibitors to delegates. This is your strategy for the day. Also bare in mind what you're planning on talking about & what you're looking to learn.
  4. Have a pitch ready! Clearly communicate by keeping it short and simple. The "So what do you do?" question is said more times than people's names throughout the day. It's the best way of being remembered and standing out from the thousands of others.
  5. Follow up! Whilst your name and card is still in their heads & pockets. Drop an email. Or even drop a text as you leave. When you get home a social media tweet is always a great place to start.
