5 thoughts that might lead your supporters to feel donor remorse

Here are some of the thoughts crossing your donors’ minds while you’re asking them to support your cause:
- Will they say thank you or just take my money and run?
- Will I now get flooded with lots of spam or junk mail asking for more money?
- Will they call and badger me for more money?
- Will they sell my name to another nonprofit that will bombard me with solicitations?
- Will they tell me what they did with my money and whether or not the impact was achieved?
Bottom line: Your supporters will think to themselves, “What will happen if I give them my money?” You need to answer those questions before they give to assure them that they are making a wise decision. Then, after they give, you better make good on your promises. If you don’t, they’ll feel donor remorse and you’ll lose donors.

5 年IMHO, #5 should be #1. People want to hear about the results. Incorporate your successes and your results into future campaigns. You must toot your own horn, and share your message. Your donors will respond!
