8 年Security has always been about the mitigation and management of risk using appropriate controls. Physical security far predates cyber and given all of the brands and technical capabilities, we still have challenges satisfying security tenants within that framework. Cyber security entrepreneurs should understand that it is all about business continuity. That is why security exist. The value needs to be deeply rooted in that concept and presented in understandable terms at the C level where the organizational responsibility and ultimate decision making resides.

8 年Hi Sramana, thanks for this list of cybersecurity startups and their CEOs. How do you define influencers ? Interestingly, it takes somewhat longer in the security industry to realize returns as you have to strike a fine balance between marketing, brand value, and technical capabilities. In my humble opinion as an industry insider, the following list captures the high growth cybersecurity companies and their leaders; - Orion Hindawi from Tanium - Patrick Morley from Carbon Black - George Kurtz from Crowdstrike - Pravin Kothari from CipherCloud - Marcin Kleczynski from MalwareBytes - Kevin Watkins from Appthority - Stephen Boyer from Bitsight I am sure I can mention a lot many people, especially the ones who created a new industry such as bug bounty by disrupting a marketplace for vulnerabilities, but this list really captures the titans who came, who saw, and who are conquering the cyber world right now !
