5 Things You Need to Scale Your Business to 7-Figures
The Business Advisory
We help 7+ figure CEOs build proven sales systems + winning teams to create self-led, scalable, SELLABLE companies.
After having helped hundreds of service providers build 6 and 7-figure businesses inside our coaching and consulting programs, we've had the opportunity to study our clients' success to understand the 5 core systems that are absolutely fundamental pieces of scaling to 7-figures and beyond —?and today, we're sharing them with you.
Now, keep in mind: these aren't the only things you need to stay at 7-figures or even scale past it (remember: new level, new devil!). At every phase of business, you will need to inevitably develop new skills, and integrate new systems and processes into your business to sustain your success.
However; mastering these 5 core systems are critical if you want to break the 6-figure threshold and scaling to $1M in annual revenue, and have been huge catalysts for not only our company, but for service-based businesses across a wide range of industries. Let's break it down:
#1: Visibility
While you might be building your social media presence and creating content consistently, lacking a PR and visibility system will keep you stressed, struggling and strained.
There's a massive difference between content creation and visibility, which is a huge proponent of lead generation.
When you create content, what you're really doing is nurturing your existing audience. The people who are already following your page, listening to your podcast, or subscribed to your Youtube channel. While it's one of the most important pieces of the puzzle (we'll get into that a little bit later), most business owners confuse content creation with visibility and think that just because they're posting consistently, they're going to be generating new leads and closing sales consistently.
The purpose of your content is to provide value that engages your community, moves them through the know, like and trust process, and, eventually, converts them into a paying customer. It's not to get in front of new audiences — at least, not on a large scale.
Sure, your content could end up on the explore page or go "viral," having a dialed in visibility strategy guarantees that you'll be leveraging other people's audiences to grow your own.
As we've built our podcast over the last 6 years, most of the listeners who subscribe to our show have come from other people's shows. Podcast guesting is one of the many visibility strategies you can leverage to bring new people into your ecosystem.
Whether you do a joint Instagram or LinkedIn live, participate in facebook group discussions, speak at events or summits; these are all surefire ways to add value to someone else's audience (ensure it overlaps with your own) and invite them to follow your platforms, subscribe to your show, or come into your world in some way to consume your content.
The point: if you want to keep growing, you need a way to consistently get discovered.
#2: Marketing
Marketing is what takes people from discovery to conversion. We talked earlier about the importance of content; even more importantly, you need to be creating content that converts.
How?
Establishing trust and credibility: provide educational (or "how-to" style) content that offers value and instant transformation. Inspire hope. Share testimonials. And stand out by standing true to your convictions.
We teach our clients to leverage the Conviction Marketing Method to build their brand authority: sharing a combination of how-to, hope, and conviction-based content that educates, inspires, and positions you as an uncontested industry leader.
Brand building is a multi-decade process, but there are actions you can take daily and consistently to speed up the process and drive results daily. We are walking through what that looks like in an upcoming 9-day workshop, starting December 5th, called Scale with Simplicity (you can learn more and get registered here for free).

#3: Daily sales
The vast majority of small businesses don't have a repeatable, high-volume sales system in place. Instead, they have haphazard, inconsistent sales in their business. If you want to drive daily sales, you need to have conversations on your calendar every single day: and when many of our clients come to us, they do not.
Those of you who do launch or host conversion events don't want to rely on those things as your only source of revenue. While they are a beautiful way to generate sales, they should not be the only way. Sustainable scaling is a result of DAILY pacing outside of launch as well, which means you need a mechanism to drive lead generation, conversations and consultations daily: whether that's with you or your sales team.
If there's money coming out of your business each day, it also needs to be coming in. Your goal as a CEO is to create a sales system that brings new customers and clients in every single day. (we'll also cover this in our upcoming Scale with Simplicity workshop).
Understand that your sales, marketing and visibility system is a fully integrated process that works together to create an optimal customer journey, moving people from discovery, to relationship, to taking that next step and converting. Your sales system should create predictability in results and continuity — meaning you have set daily metrics for calls, conversations and consultations, and an idea of what your conversion rate looks like.
#4: A scalable, high ticket offer and exceptional service delivery
Unless you already have a large global audience, it will be challenging to scale to $1M with a low ticket product or offer.
That doesn't mean high ticket is right and low ticket is wrong; as a multi 8-figure company, we have a wide range of services starting at $26 all the way up to $150K+. However; there's an order of events in which you should follow if your goal is to scale to 7-figures for the first time.
Selling high-ticket is a much easier path to 7-figures because you need far less customers to reach profitability; which allows you to reinvest in essentials (think team and advertising) without working countless hours or needing a ton of clients.
If you get your clients great results, have an offer that solves the urgent needs of your market (and one they're willing to invest in), and are able to articulate your messaging, value proposition and results - you will have success selling high ticket.
#5: A dream team
None of us can do it all alone. You may be able to reach a certain level of success on your own; but it's only a matter of time before you cap your own growth because you run out of time and capacity.
You likely started your business to create more freedom and make a massive difference. But if you're doing everything in the business, you're never going to create the level of impact or income you desire.
At every stage of growth; the hiring process will look a little bit different. You will go from hiring helpers (VA, administrative assistants, interns, etc.) to hiring owners as your business grows.
Team building is not an overnight process; but the bottom line is: if you want to scale to $1M and beyond, you absolutely need to hire help. It should be one of the first things you reinvest in.
If you want to learn how each of these 5 systems work together and what you can do starting now to create predictability, profitability, and peace in 2023: we hope to see you on December 5th at our Scale with Simplicity workshop!
