It's mental health this week .. I'm sure you've seen but we don't need to have a special week to ensure we take little steps to help our own mental health.
So here are 5 top tips to keep your mental doing OK, especially right now.
???♀?Keep active.
This is about not being a couch spud! Do something, do anything that just gets you moving. Go for a walk, do some body weight exercises , get a skipping rope out and have a jump. Get up from your desk every hour and walk up and down the stairs two or three times.
??Keep connecting with people.
Of course right now we have to social distance within guidelines. So ring a friend you've not spoken to for ages. Arrange a zoom call with some buddies and enjoy a cuppa or glass of something over a catch up. Smile and say hello to everyone you meet while out walking. Ring your clients to say hello and see how they are doing.
??Keep mentally active and set some goals
Focus on something that will make a difference. Something to think about. Plan. Do something on your to do list that has been sitting there a while. Set yourself some deadlines to have some actions finished by ( that's always a good one anyway!)
??Take time to notice your environment
Be in the moment. When you go for a walk, look up. Look around you. Notice the flowers, notice gardens, listen to the birds, what else can you hear. Look in your own garden. What haven't you seen before? Check out the different sorts of doors people have .. whatever it is just notice something new!
??Give to others
How can you make someone's day? Send a card? Drop them a text to see how they are doing? Offer to help in a practical way .. a neighbour, a business colleague. Stop to chat to someone who may not see anyone for days. When we do stuff for others without any intention of a return favour it make us feel good.
Love to know what resonates with you.

4 年I really resonate with the being present part. Its been easier to notice the positive smaller things that we might have overlooked before. I totally know what you mean about people's front doors and I also found myself wondering if the trees were greener than usual this year. Lovely post Vicky!
