Hello, Readers of the Small Business Edge Newsletter,

One of my favorite quotes I often share with new business owners is:?"Never let the odds keep you from doing what you know in your heart you were meant to do."?- H. Jackson Browne Jr.

So...put on your running shoes, tie the laces, and chase that dream of yours! And make sure you enjoy the journey too.

2. Celebrating October Holidays

When people think of holidays in October, Halloween is likely the one that first leaps into your mind. For example, did you know that October 5th?is National Apple Betty Day? Or that October 21st?is National?Loud Shirt Day?

Holidays like these, as obscure as they sound, can be good fodder for promotions in your physical workspace, online business, or email marketing.

For example, if you sell clothes, it makes sense to promote loud shirts on October 21st. If you’re not a retailer, you can still have fun with it. Have a loud shirt contest at the office, and let your team choose the winner/s. Restaurant owners could promote a loud shirt night as well.?

Constant Contact has more email promotion ideas for October. Take a look.
