Hi LinkedIn!
How are you doing?
While on spring break this week, I was cleaning out the furnace room. We use it as an extra pantry and store a backlog of food down there.?
As I was throwing away some of the expired food and taking stock of what we needed to use up, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a rusted spot on the furnace.
Well, that's odd, I thought. I wonder how long that's been going on?
Our furnace was installed when we bought the house and we've had problems with it from the get-go.?
First off, the contractor initially installed the venting incorrectly.
So, for the first year, whenever the weather hit freezing, the furnace would stop running because the intake would freeze over with ice.
We'd go out in the middle of the night to knock off the ice. We called the installer to get it fixed, and he jerry-rigged a "solution" that still didn't fix the problem and then moved out of state.
Fast forward about ten years, a few other short-term furnace guys in between, and my husband, after much tinkering, was able to detour the intake so that it didn't freeze up anymore. Yay!
Now to my rust spot. That rust spot is from condensation that has built up over the years. We had a guy come out to check it out the other day, and because the installation wasn't right from the start, we need to get a whole new furnace.
Like my mama always—pay now or pay later.? This holds true whether it's a furnace install or your marketing.
It's a good reminder to put in the time, effort, and research upfront, or you'll spend in more time, effort, money, and energy trying to jerry-rig short-term solutions to a long term problem.
Are there any marketing issues that keep popping up for you that you're tired of putting a band-aid on?
