5 Things marketing people are tired of hearing
We get it, and not everybody gets digital marketing. This industry is going strong for a long time now, but still, people may understandably need some clarification about a lot of things when we try explaining our day-to-day. There are a lot of misconceptions that come up a lot, and yes they can be exhausting. Which of these five things are you most tired of hearing?
1. I want you rank #1 on google for X keywords
I know we all have heard this from our boss. Pinpointing exact rankings in google is quite tricky nowadays, and sometimes you don’t even feel it is interesting anymore. When someone says “We rank #7 on Google, why? The more interesting question would be “You wrote all crap, and we are still ranking #7, how?”
2. I want a viral content
Wait. What? What is viral content? Your boss is probably asking you every day to create something that will go viral. How does one write viral content? Let me tell you, no, you cannot write one. The only thing that is going viral now is the virus!
3. Why are our followers low on social media?
Let me tell you engagement isn’t the only thing that works. You have got to switch up your strategies and hope to increase your followers and also drive traffic back to your website. So make sure you are finding a balance between Ranking #1, generating leads and growing your followers. Also, don’t forget to justify your time to your boss.
4. The marketing department will become publishing departments
When team members are juggling other roles in addition to creating content, it becomes challenging to create content. As there are things that are already automated when it comes to marketing, and you will need people only to create content. There is a slight chance that the marketing department everywhere will start to transform into publishing departments.
5. We need quick high-end results
Sorry, we are humans too. We cannot predict the future so we cannot give you clear answers as to when will we rank #1 or when our blogs/articles will go viral. Things take time to happen. We need to trust the process and keep giving our best.
