1) 1 Year of Newsletter
2nd November 2022 was the start of a new journey in my life. This was the day when I began Season 1 of this newsletter where I wanted to explore and learn 5 things in a week. I honestly can’t believe it’s been 1 year since I started this newsletter. Time is flying quickly as I get older and do more things. This newsletter is supposed to be my digital journal of how I am trying to figure out what my purpose in life is and it’s a journey of growth and exploration. You must have noticed the name of this newsletter is “Searching Purpose”.
So, why is it called “Searching Purpose”??
Many people talk about finding purpose in life and finding what you love. But, not everyone knows what they are doing with their lives and a lot of people are living life mindlessly without asking themselves “What is my purpose?”.?
I am a deep thinker about life and I always think about my place in this world. Last year, I started this journey of trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life and how I wanted to live my life. Personally, I cannot see myself living my life mindlessly without realizing my own potential and making an impact in this world. Since last year, I grabbed a lot of different opportunities and utilized my time effectively to explore different options. Based on all the different experiences I had in the last year, I have 3 big assumptions on what I believe my purpose in life is; which I need to validate by testing them out simultaneously. This year, I am going to test out all of these assumptions and keep exploring what life is all about.?
When I first started this newsletter, a few people told me it was useless to talk about life and purpose and I was wasting my time. Later I realized, these people are fucked in their heads if they don’t want to think about how to live a good life and make a positive impact in this world. One of the biggest lessons I learned in the last year is - don’t care what others think about you - either they don’t know what they are doing or they are jealous of what you do.?
I am looking forward to Season 2 of this newsletter! This upcoming year will be amazing, challenging, and full of self-exploration! See you next week!?
2) Shahrukh Khan (SRK)
Shahrukh Khan is one of the people I look up to and he has made me believe that if you put your mind to it and do the hard work you will achieve it. His story resonates with me - a man who had nothing to achieving all his dreams.?
But first, who is Shahrukh Khan?
Shahrukh Khan is a Bollywood actor, film producer, and businessman. He is widely known as the “King of Bollywood” and “King Khan”. He is one of the most successful actors in Bollywood with a career spanning over 25 years and has appeared in more than 80 movies.?
There’s a reason why I love Shahrukh Khan and look up to him - his story. So what is his story?
This is the story of a man who came from nothing to become one of the top 5 richest actors. He is a living example of hard work, perseverance, and dedication.?
SRK was born and raised in New Delhi and later shifted to Mumbai to become an actor. Khan’s father DIED due to cancer when he was 16 and his mother DIED 10 years later.?
Despite facing adversity early on in life, including the loss of his parents at a young age and struggles with poverty, SRK persevered and worked hard to achieve success in his life. He has also been open about his difficult past, including sleeping on the streets during his struggling days in Mumbai.
When he came to Mumbai, he told his friends “I am going to rule this city” and he turned that into reality. Fun fact, according to a popularity survey, 3.2 billion people around the world know Shah Rukh Khan, more than those who know Tom Cruise.

In one of his interviews, he says that after he lost his parents, and had no money - he thought there was nothing worse than his and this has to be rock bottom. So whatever happens next, it’s going to be for the good and he needs to keep working.?
Personally, I look up to a lot of successful people and I try to surround myself with people like Shahrukh Khan, Steve Jobs, Kobe Bryant, David Goggins, and many more by watching their interviews, reading books, and learning from their stories. All of these people have 2 things in common: Work Ethic and Focus.?
Fun Fact: I started my newsletter on SRK’s birthday (November 2nd)?
Additional Facts About Shahrukh Khan:
?He is the brand ambassador of Dubai Tourism and every year on his birthday, Burj Khalifa - the tallest building in the world - lights up and pays tribute to Shahrukh Khan.
?Every year on his birthday, thousands of his fans gather outside his house “Mannat” in Mumbai to catch a glimpse of him (See photo)
3) Quote I am pondering?
“There is no such thing as normal, Normal is just another word for Lifeless.” - Shahrukh Khan
