1) Skill I am learning?
This week I conquered my fear of doing backflips from a ledge. Whenever I thought about doing a backflip from a ledge, I would get mentally blocked, and the fear would consume me. But this week, I finally did it! I came to the realization that overthinking only feeds our fears and it is important to take the first step and do whatever it is that you want to do!
2) Quote I am pondering?
“Dreams without goals, are just dreams and they ultimately fuel disappointment.” - Denzel Washington?
3) What I am thinking?
Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a rut, constantly overthinking and worrying about your future? I’ve come to a realization that inaction is the root cause of these feelings. When we spend our days lost in thought, worrying over all the things we need to do without actually taking action, we are sure to feel anxious and overwhelmed.?
Think about it - doesn’t it feel positive and energizing when you take that first step towards your goals/tasks, no matter how small? This feeling of accomplishment is one of the most important feelings to experience to help you in doing things.
It’s easy to get stuck in a cycle of inaction, but that’s the main thing that holds people from pursuing what they want. Personally, I have found that taking action, no matter how small, fills me with positive energy and motivates me to keep moving forward. That’s why I’ll never stop pushing myself to take that first step and make things happen!
4) Topic I am reading
Daylight Savings Time (DST)
DST is a practice of advancing the clock by one hour during the summer months so that darkness falls later to make better use of daylight.?
The clocks are forwarded by one hour in either late winter or spring and set back by one hour in the fall to return to standard time. As a result, there is one 23-hour day in early spring and one 25-hour day in the middle of fall.
Germany adopted daylight saving time (DST) in 1916 to conserve energy during World War I. While Germany was indeed the first country to observe the practice, certain regions of Canada were already following DST as early as 1908
