People work really hard nowadays and they don’t even give themself a break. When you work hard you deserve a break and a day off as an appreciation for yourself. Living in a big city and having to pay for everything can seem like a big reason to be cruel to yourself and not give yourself a break. In my own company, I believe in work-life balance and I do believe everyone could do that too. That’s why you should know about 5 things to do to take a holiday break from your business.?
1.Work In Advance
When you know that you will take a holiday off, you can work in advance. What does it mean? I mean you have to list the job that you have to do and take an extra hour to finish the job faster. You don't have to take it to the extreme, working 12 hours straight a day, you can just take 1-2 extra hours several days before so you can be free on your holiday. You could enjoy your holiday without thinking about unfinished business.?
2.Automate Key Processes
This tip is very helpful for your business. If you want to keep in touch with your clients during the holiday, an automated key process is the answer. I use autoresponders for replying to my client's mail and automated mail to keep in touch with them. I could still wish a Merry Christmas to all of my clients during my day off or even tell my clients that I have a new mini-course called Build a Brand on Video. My clients could still get a reply to their mail and information about when their mail will be replied to. It’s very convenient if you have a bunch of clients.
3.Let Your Clients Know Now About Your Plans
Before you really take a day off from your business, your clients, business partners, and whoever you work with deserve to know when you are going to have time off. So when you are on a break they're not wondering and ask for you, because they already know. Working with your clients and other people requires communication & understanding, that’s why you have to tell your plan and work schedule.
4.Hire A VA to Help With Social Media And Emails
This is my personal favorite. If you want your business to run smoothly on your day off or when you are not around maybe this could be a solution for you. So could go to a job portal like UpWork and hire someone there, you train them, teach them, and coach them about how your company works. They can run your social media, email or any kind of things you need help with temporarily or if you need a hand, you could hire them as a full-time employee. Isn’t it incredible?
5.Plan Your Content
As a social media person, this is just a daily thing for me. I can plan my content for 1 week ahead or even 1 month ahead. In order to do that, you need footage and content stock or I usually call it B-Roll. If you are curious about how to use B-Roll, you can join my webinar How To Use B-Roll Content To Grow On Instagram & TikTok. After you get ready to post content you can schedule your content. You can use the Meta Business suite for Instagram & Facebook, TikTok desktop for TikTok, or you can use MetriCool tool for your all social media accounts. All social media schedulers in 1 platform.?
Taking a holiday break from your business might seem challenging, but with the right planning, it’s absolutely doable and necessary. Remember, you deserve time to recharge and enjoy life outside of work. By working in advance, automating processes, communicating with your clients, hiring help, and planning content ahead of time, you can step away without worrying about things falling apart. So, go ahead and give yourself time to take that break and come back to work more productively.
