5 TAKEAWAYS FROM CORK FORMAT

The Quadient Graphics Team visited Cork recently for a one-day event held on the 27th of April 2023.

Events like FORMAT are a great way for Quadient to showcase our products and services, inspiring attendees to take action with developing new printing business workflows.

During the event we asked visitors what was coming up on the radar as business concerns within the next 12 months, and these were our five takeaways.

1.??????Fast turnaround is crucial for better customer service, companies that can deliver printed materials quickly gain a competitive edge. The 6-hour de-gassing process on the new Roland VG3 printers is a good example of this. The TrueVis 2 inks are the latest version of Roland’s solvent-based inks with a reduced gas-off time, allowing you to produce great quality vibrant prints with a much quicker finishing time.

??????????????????????????????Tight deadlines are integral to time-sensitive projects, such as event promotions, product launches, or marketing campaigns, where meeting deadlines is essential for success. Fast turnaround demonstrates reliability and responsiveness, leading to increased customer satisfaction. The outcome is improved workflow efficiency, reduced production times, and overall operational optimization.

2.??????Integration is key - one of our featured products at Cork FORMAT was the Duplo PFI Blade which fully integrates with the Xerox Iridesse. The Duplo PFI Blade allows printers to streamline and expand into a new marketplace with the automation and precision for intricate short-run, high-value work, that you can produce for new and existing clients. ???

?????????Workflow integration allows for seamless communication and coordination between different printers, enabling businesses to streamline their printing workflow. It eliminates the need for manual intervention or transferring files between different systems, reducing errors, and improving efficiency. This is a win-win, with increased productivity, cost savings and enhanced print quality.

3.??????The Duplo 618 proved to be very popular at the show and has been described as ‘the Swiss Army Knife’ of print finishing. The fully automated DC-618 Slitter, Cutter, Creaser is Duplo’s compact, yet powerful all-in-one finishing solution designed for today’s digital printer. With the ability to process up to 6 slits, 30 cuts and 20 creases in one pass, the DC-618 delivers full-bleed applications up to 23 sheets per minute without the white borders and toner cracking for a clean finish.

4.??????New technology is essential for business development, and empowers decision-makers to make more informed, data-backed choices. Knowledge of new technology can facilitate business expansion and scalability. Modern printing machines enable businesses to reach new markets, target a wider audience, and expand their operations.

5.??????People buy from People – we had a great turnout in Cork, and the city is vibrant as ever. Perhaps an obvious point here, but it’s worth calling out the value of a face-to-face meeting. Quadient believes in building a personal connection with our customers, with an emphasis on after-sales service, and we really enjoyed meeting the industry in Cork!

Many thanks to our partners for this event – National Business Machines (NBM).

Our next event will be Dublin FORMAT, planned for October 2023 – we will be providing attendees with the opportunity to learn about new trends, technologies, and practices in the field of commercial printing.
