The 5 Tactical Initiatives to Overcome the Storm

The 5 Tactical Initiatives to Overcome the Storm

Once I left medicine because of my health, to say I was lost would be somewhat of an understatement.

I was robbed of all hope. Some of you might be having similar experiences with an abrupt change in your career or loss of a job, or perhaps you're at a point in your business where you are just not getting the results you anticipated or planned for.

When I had that sense of hopelessness it became a self-fulfilling prophecy. All of my attention and all of my thoughts became centered around what's not happening and why it's not happening.

Having gone through this, I have to warn you, you absolutely must guard against this, because what will happen if you don’t is you will either fall out or fall apart.

I had already fallen out of practicing medicine, I wasn’t about to let that happen again, but I was on the verge of falling apart.

If we have to fall, let’s fall forward. Let’s be intentional about making some strategic steps in the right direction before we entirely derail.

There are 5 Tactical Initiatives, that a business owner, entrepreneur, or quite frankly ANYONE needs to focus on to make sure they're always putting their energy and effort into having the right mindset and actions to succeed.

These 5 Tactical Initiatives are where you put your energy and motivation but they are also where you draw your energy and motivation.

They always need nurturing so that when you're going through particularly rough periods, when things are not happening the way that you want, you’re able to draw life from them.

These are easy to ignore when you're on top of the mountain, because success infuses all of the energy, excitement, momentum and motivation that you need at the moment. I certainly had this practicing medicine.

The problem was I had no energy and no motivation when the mountain came down crashing on top of me.

We’ve all had those times, even those of us who have been very successful. Perhaps you’ve only had a small bump, or a small hill, rather than a mountain as I had, nonetheless we have all had a taste of this to some degree.

And so, always fill these up even when things are good, but when things are not going your way, focus even more so on these 5 Tactical Initiatives (don’t worry I’ll tell you eventually!!), so that you can draw from them, because in their totality they feed hope, and hope is the entrepreneur's best friend.

Hope IS the entrepreneur's best friend.

NOT a hope devoid of goals, plans and actions, but a real hope based in doing, being, having and wanting.

A hope based upon a burning desire put into action is a very powerful thing. This isn’t only a religious based fact, but also a fact based in neuroscience research.

Physicians have seen the role hope plays in their patients attitudes. We know it’s important spiritually. And we know that hope plays a huge role in our motivations, feelings and emotions.

I was down and nearly out but I kept the faith. Faith in myself, in my abilities, in my resources, and in my future. But it was the faith of the past, the evidence and the belief of the past, that nurtured the substance of things hope for in my future.

You have to tap into that same faith to nurture the hope you have for the future.

We still haven’t touched on the 5 Tactical Initiatives. We will!

But first we have to dig into this critical distinction between faith and hope.

I promise you this is neither a religious discussion nor a ‘feel-good’ intangible discussion.

These are fact-based success principles for life and business solidly based in the research of neuroscience.

See you next time …
