The 5 Steps You Can't Skip on LinkedIn (or you'll miss out on massive opportunities...)

I have to say, I’m absolutely thrilled - yesterday I hosted the LinkedIn Clarity Masterclass for 585 coaches, course creators, and other service providers!
It's clear that many are interested in taking their LinkedIn presence to the next level!
So, I thought - why not share the steps here too!
Because, they are non-negotiable... if you don't implement them - or you THINK you got them all right (but you aren't)... then you'll miss out on massive opportunities that are in fact right at your fingertips!
Not just important, or "can do:s" but ESSENTIAL
During the masterclass, I shared my 5-step framework for building a Personal Brand on LinkedIn that turns connections into clients.
These steps aren’t just important—they're essential.
Miss one, and you’re either setting yourself up for failure or leaving money on the table.
Let me tell you why:
Step 1: Profile Optimization
Your LinkedIn profile is your digital storefront—people decide whether to walk in or scroll past in seconds.
And trust me, I see the mistakes all the time: profiles that scream “BUY NOW!” without earning any trust, or profiles so vague they don’t even show what you’re offering.
When your profile is optimized, people instantly know who you are, what you do, and why you’re the one to help them.
Step 2: Engagement
Posting and ghosting don’t work. LinkedIn is a social platform, and the algorithm rewards those who engage genuinely.
I often see people drop a post and then poof—vanish. Or worse, they leave generic comments like “Great post!”
No, no, no!
Real engagement means sparking conversations and building relationships.
If you’re not engaging, LinkedIn won’t push your content, and you’re missing out on some golden opportunities.
Step 3: Connections
This isn’t about racking up as many connections as you can — it's about connecting with the right people.
I see folks sending hundreds of connection requests, thinking that’s the way to grow. But what you need is quality, not quantity.
You want connections who are inspiring, and interesting, will refer you, work with you, support you, or help you grow in some way.
And if you treat it like a numbers game, you’ll miss out on the magic of real, meaningful connections.
Step 4: Content That Converts
Your content should position you as the go-to expert, but also attract the right people while repelling the wrong ones.
What’s a common mistake made here?

Content that’s too broad or inconsistent, leaving your audience confused.
If you look at your content from a bird's view - the common theme needs to be, “I know exactly what you’re struggling with, and I’m the one to help you fix it.”
And the best way to do that?
Storytelling.
Share your unique stories because no one else has lived through what you have — and that’s what makes you unforgettable.
Now here’s the thing — you need to build Know, Like, and Trust before turning your audience into clients.
And that happens through the first four steps: optimizing your profile, engaging strategically, building connections, and creating content that resonates.
But here’s the catch: just because you’re ready to sell doesn’t mean your audience is ready to buy.
You’ve got to stay top of mind through consistent visibility — engaging, connecting, and posting.
Only posting?
Not enough.
Only commenting?
Nope.
It’s the strategic combination of these actions that leads to real results.
Step 5: Sales Mindset
Even if you’ve aced Steps 1-4, nothing happens if you don’t have the right sales mindset.
You’ve got to be comfortable with selling—and understand that sales aren’t about being pushy.
It's about service.
When you see sales as helping others, LinkedIn becomes a goldmine for building your business and making a difference.
