5 Steps to Stop Procrastinating and Start Leading Your Life

In September 2019, I made the crazy decision to take my coaching business online.
(not so crazy in hindsight!)
A complex process that took me months and months of trial & error.
My calendar was full, and I often found myself putting things off because I was "too busy" or “didn’t have time".
I felt that I wasn’t truly living… I was surviving.
Putting everything into my business and procrastinating on my health & fitness.
I was skipping workouts, eating and drinking whatever could give me that momentary boost to keep going (cheesecake, cookies and red wine were always on the menu!) and sitting at my desk 24/7.
My only change of scenery was walking to Starbucks to carry on working and drinking coffees on repeat.
Procrastination was killing my health and my progress — in business and in life.
Most business leaders like yourself are experiencing the same.
I get it, it truly seems that there’s no way out.
Procrastination is draining your energy, sabotaging your health, and delaying the version of yourself that could be living a higher-performance life.
You might be thinking, “I know what to do, I just don’t do it.”
But here’s the twist — knowing isn’t the problem.
Not acting is.
Here’s how I changed the script in 5 simple steps:
1. Define Your "Why"
Without a strong reason, your goals become optional. What’s driving you?
Is it the vision of being a role model for your family?
The desire to lead your team with energy and confidence? Get crystal clear on this and let it fuel your actions.
2. Time Block Non-Negotiables
Stop saying you don’t have time.
Instead, make time. Block 30 minutes a day for exercise, meal prep, or meditation.
Treat these as non-negotiables — like a critical meeting with a client.
3. Embrace the 2-Minute Rule
If something takes less than 2 minutes, do it right now.
This simple rule beats procrastination and builds momentum.
Momentum creates action, and action leads to results.
4. Set Small, Achievable Wins
Big goals can feel overwhelming and cause you to stall. Break them down.
Start with small, manageable tasks. Every small win builds confidence and brings you closer to the bigger picture.
5. Invest in Accountability
You’re a leader — but even leaders need support.
Surround yourself with people who hold you to a higher standard.
Find a coach or join a community that pushes you to stay on track.
Remember: Procrastination is a choice. So is action.
Don’t just lead a business; lead your life. The world needs you at your best — and so do you.
Ready to stop procrastinating and start performing at your peak?
It starts with a single step.
And that step is today.
