Heya ??

Hope you're having a great day today.

Let's go

If you were forwarded this mail, you can sign up here , I spent hours creating this newsletter, would really appreciate it if you could just take out 8 seconds and forward it to ONE person who can benefit from this

Today we talk all about Mobile Messaging

It should take you roughly 2 minutes and 03 seconds to go through today's edition

In today's edition,

?? Mobile Messaging

?? Marshmellow Coke anyone?

?? Snippets: Fundings this week

?? Brand of the week & the tools they use

Let's dive in ??

D2C Class: Mobile Messaging

Let's get Texting

If you’ve been sleeping on Mobile Messaging, this may be a good time to wake up. The open and click rates are through the roof.

And mobile messaging includes both Text and WhatsApp. The principles remain the same

But before we get started, let me lay down the ground rules ?

1) Do Not text more than 2-3 times a week (Non Transactional)

2) Do not Text late at night or early morning. It’s a personal medium, respect the privacy of your subscribers

3) Never ever add your customers in WhatsApp groups, let me say that again NEVER EVER

4) Always give them an option to Opt out. You don’t want them reporting you.

Ok, so now that the rules are out of the way, let’s start with the basics

Let’s start with asking for her number

There’re a couple of ways to do this

  1. Get them to check a button while placing an order
  2. Get them to share their details on a pop-up

Set expectations & Welcome them to your world

The first message should ideally set the tone if you’ve got their number through an offer or pop-up. Tell em what to expect and also how can they stop getting your messages

Try starting with a welcome series. Keep it short and sweet. 2-3 messages should be fine

Transactional Messages

Did you ever give these messages a 2nd thought? I’m guessing NO.

Transactional messages don’t have to be boring, use every opportunity to deepen your relationship with your customers and showcase your brand personality

Abandoned Cart Texts

We all know the hidden gold in Abandoned carts right? Why not add texts your arsenal too.

Create an Abandoned Cart text flow along with your email and remarketing efforts.

Flash Sales

Have a sale coming up, use texts to announce your big sale.

VIP Texts:

These are the 20% of your customers who drive 80% of your revenue. Make sure to treat them well. Send them a lil thank you here n there. Acknowledge them

Engagement / Content Drip

I have not seen too many brands do this. You have a chance to stand out by sending in a few engagement texts.

Nothing too fancy, some content around your niche will be fine. I know sending a text costs money, but hey, you want to build a long-term relationship with your customers right?

2 way or Conversational Texts:

This is another big opportunity, but let’s keep this for another day.

TL;DR:

Mobile messaging is a low hanging fruit that most of us don't take advantage of. Get on the bandwagon before it gets saturated.

What caught our attention this week?

Marshmello with Coca-Cola?

Imagine how that would taste? But we are not here to ruin your taste buds, we are talking about a collaboration coming up between the Grammy-nominated singer and the soda giant.

The new flavor which introduces strawberry and watermelon to Coke marks the first time The Coca-Cola Company has co-created a beverage with an artist.

The release is the latest in a string of projects to come out of the Coca-Cola Creations platform, which seeks to not only create unique, limited flavors, but also position The Coca-Cola Company as a lifestyle brand through merchandise and virtual experiences.

Remember the last time we talked about the Byte edition and Pixel Point? Following a similar lead, for the Marshmello collaboration, a scannable QR code will link to the Coca-Cola Creations hub where visitors can create their own digital art while listening to “Numb.”
