5 Steps to Elite Leadership

5 Steps to Elite Leadership

Being an “elite leader” is not just a single quality. It’s a combination of many qualities that blend together to make you an effective influencer of people.

There are endless approaches and personalities that make a leader successful, but there are a few things that I believe are true for all great leaders. Let’s look at 5 ways you can start becoming an ELITE leader:

Emotional Intelligence?

Emotional Intelligence is your leadership currency.

If you aren’t aware of your emotions - your overall energy, how you react under stress, how you frequently respond to others, then you’re going to have a hard time being effective in your communication.

Learning Mindset?

I’ve never been around a successful leader who isn’t on their own journey of personal growth.

Elite leaders are always learning, always reading, always making an effort to grow.

Elite leadership is a long game, and to play the long game, you must be willing to adapt.

A fixed mindset will keep you stuck where you are and stop you from reaching your potential.

Initiative to Act?

You can’t stop at learning.

I’ve seen hundreds of leaders who are addicted to learning about the next best thing and reading the newest book, but they never make a lasting impact because they aren’t willing to act on what they learn.

You can’t just learn, learn, learn, and expect problems to fix themselves.

Take action!

Trust?

It’s hard, if not impossible, to lead people who don’t trust you.

How well do you hold up to your word?

How intentional are you in responding to the feedback you receive from your people?

Trust is built through consistent communication and appreciation of your people.

Energy and Effectiveness

Lastly, to be an elite leader, you need to be firing on all cylinders.

It’s rare to find an influential leader who is low energy consistently.

Now, I know life is tiring, work is tiring, but that’s why you have to prioritize your self-care.

Exercise, eat well, hydrate.

Do the little things that make a big impact so you can operate at your best and inspire others to do the same.

?

Elite leadership isn’t a milestone, it’s a process and a lifestyle.

You have to be willing to take on the habits and mindset of other successful leaders if you want to reach your potential.

If you pay attention to and make an effort to improve in these 5 areas, I can promise you that you are on your way to being an “Elite Leader.”
