#11 - Five Simple Ways To Stay Fit

I just had my second child and was so overjoyed, whilst at the same time I began to fall into depression.

I now weighed 89.9 kgs and could barely look at myself in the mirror.

It was then that getting fit became a thing for me.

Before that I weighed 55 lbs with a waist of 22 inches.

I was now fifty pounds overweight and a waist of 46 inches.

Because of the weight, I began suffering with terrible knee problems.

Even the nodes along my spine were swelling due to the poor blood circulation.

I was also having constant vertigo attacks and that was one of the scariest things that I had ever experienced.

At that point, getting fit was not a luxury but a necessity for me.

To put icing on the cake, I had two highly active sons and a husband who needed me healthy.

At 26 years of age, it was time to get really serious about my fitness goals.

With commitment, dedication and a plan, I lost 50 lbs and 6 inches off my waist.

My dress size dropped from 18 to 10.

And one of the most rewarding thing is that I gained so much more … confidence, motivation and special nuggets along the way.

I was happier and healthier.

In today’s article, I am going to give you five simple ways to keep fit so you could live a happier and healthier life.

One thing that I learnt on my journey to being fit is that exercise doesn’t have to be complicated, neither do you need to have an elaborate workout routine.

You can stay fit in many simple ways.

The most important thing is to eat less and burn the excess body fat.

So here are five simple ways in which you can keep yourself fit and healthy without spending too much time or resources.

5?????Simple Ways To Stay Fit

?

1. Morning runs

This is an ideal way to burn body fat and keep yourself fit. Morning runs are very refreshing and help to improve brain functions. I totally love my morning runs. It’s much quieter, there’s also minimum traffic so it is much easier to navigate the streets and sidewalks. Prepare everything from the night before, so upon awaking you can quickly get out of the door.?You'll find yourself very active for the rest of the day with your mood greatly improved since running triggers the release of dopamine which is essential for happy moods.

2. Jogging

If you can't run, jogging is a great alternative. You'll still sweat and burn calories while improving the functioning of your body organs such as the heart and brain. It improves the flow of blood to the rest of the body and makes you fit and healthy. It is also a less strenuous exercise which means that even people who are advanced in age can participate in it. You can wear a fitness tracker to monitor your progress. It relays information about your heart rate and the distance covered. You can then use such data to evaluate yourself.

3. Nature walks

Walking helps you to burn calories and strengthen your leg muscles. You can trek or walk up a mountainous region, or just follow a nature trail and admire the natural environment. This can help you clear your mind, obtain better perspectives when it comes to making important decisions and keep your body fit. Some people assume that walking is not really exercising but the fact remains that it is a great way to burn calories. That's the reason why people who use their cars quite often are more likely to be overweight and unfit compared to those who walk every now and then.?When we lived in Paris, we ensured that we went on long family walks at least twice per week.?It was an easy way to get an additional form of exercise in and enjoy the family bonding moments.

4. Dancing

Have you ever wondered why most dancers generally have a lean physique? The reason is that dancing makes you sweat and burn calories, whilst in the process you get rid of excess body fat and keep fit. You don't have to go to the gym to get a flat tummy, you can achieve that goal in a fun and exciting way through dancing. In fact, this type of exercise is the most ideal for someone who doesn't have much time to engage in outdoor fitness programs like running or jogging. If dancing is your thing, then go on and have some fun whilst getting fit.

5. Just moving more

When I was on my journey to lose 50 lbs, I made it my personal mission to just move more.?I took the train instead of the vehicle.?I walked the steps in the train station instead of using the escalator or elevator.?I profited any opportunity that I got to just move more.?Do not stress yourself over your fitness goals.?Set realistic goals and make it fun as you engage in daily activities to get you to where you want to be. Don't forget to include weight training sessions at least 3 times a week to speed up that fat burning process.
