5 Simple steps to integrate your website with Piwik Pro

Integrating Piwik PRO with your website involves setting up a tracking code similar to Google Analytics. Here’s a step-by-step guide to integrating Piwik PRO into your website.

Create a Piwik PRO Account

• Sign up for a Piwik PRO account by visiting Piwik PRO and choosing either the free or enterprise plan.
• After signing up, you’ll be directed to your Piwik PRO dashboard.

Add Your Website to Piwik PRO

• In your Piwik PRO dashboard, click on "Administration" in the bottom left corner.
• Under the Websites & Apps section, select "Create new website or app".
• Fill out the necessary details about your website, such as the name and the URL.

Get the Tracking Code

• Once your website is created, you’ll be provided with a JavaScript tracking code specific to your website.
• Copy the tracking code that appears on the screen.

Add the Tracking Code to Your Website

1. Add HTML tracking code manually on head section - Paste the tracking code just before the closing </head> tag on every page you want to track.
2. Using a CMS (WordPress, etc.) - For platforms like WordPress, you can use a plugin or directly add the code to your theme’s header file (header.php).There are also dedicated plugins for Piwik PRO in some CMS platforms.
3. Using Google Tag Manager (Optional): If you are already using Google Tag Manager, you can create a new tag for Piwik PRO and add the tracking code through GTM.

Verify the Installation

After adding the tracking code, go back to the Piwik PRO dashboard and check the Real-time data section to see if your website is being tracked.

You can also use the Developer Tools in your browser (Inspect > Network tab) to ensure that the Piwik PRO script is loading properly on your website.
