We help Employers Reduce Injury Costs 50-90% and Improve Productivity greater than thought possible with simple systems that sustain benefits and improve workplace happiness for years
So often, too often, we have an idea, see that something needs to be done, think about doing it, then never take action. This applies to you, the executive, as well as your supervisors and workers.
There is a scientific reason that this happens. Better yet, there is a predictable solution that if applied will have you and your staff far more safe, efficient, and productive.
The good news is it takes only 5 seconds. In this article you will learn why it happens and what can be done to increase your and your business’s efficiency and productivityIt’s called “the 5 second rule†You might have heard expert, Mel Robbins talking about it.
If you have an instinct to act on a goal, you must physically move within 5 seconds or your brain will kill it.
What is it? It’s a form of metacognition that helps you beats hesitation, overwhelm, and procrastination.
The moment you feel an instinct or a desire to act on a goal or a commitment, use the Rule. How do you do it? It’s easy: Just start counting backward to yourself: 5-4-3-2-1.
And once you hit 1, you choose to physically execute!
How does it work? The counting will focus you on the goal or commitment and distract you from the worries, thoughts, and excuses in your mind. There is a window that exists between the moment you have an instinct to change and your mind killing it.
It’s a 5 second window. And it exists for everyone.
I use it every time I need to get out of bed, do another set at the gym (even get dressed for the gym) , write an article, have the conversation I’d been putting off.
Our clients executives, supervisors and workers use it to take action on any issue, making a call, addressing a customer, putting something away, addressing an issue with a colleague, choosing to perform an action in a safe manner.
Share this with your supervisors and influence them to share it with their team and you will influence them to be more effective and productive.
Use this your self at work and home and you will be amazed at how much more you accomplish.
How will you use this today?
