When it comes to e-commerce, the more people you listen to, the better.
The world of digital marketing and e-commerce can be pretty intimidating. But there are so many highly experienced CEOs, Founders, and leading marketers that are more than happy to share their wisdom.?
This week, I’ve brought together 5 e-commerce experts and asked them to share their advice for how to scale your e-commerce business.?
Let’s get into it.
Benton Crane, CEO of Harmon Brothers
Remember that awesome ad campaign for Squatty Potty? Yep, that was the Harmon Brothers . Harmon Brothers are the masterminds behind some of the most iconic viral video ads of all time, including Chatbooks, Poo-Pourri, FiberFix, and many more.
So, what’s Benton’s advice for scaling with Facebook ads in a post iOS world??
?“Look at different KPIs than what you’re used to on your conversion campaigns. It’s not just about ROAS and conversion. You need to be thinking about other KPIs. One of the most important is branded search.”
Take a look at how many searches your brand gets and assess how the trend changes over time. To increase your branded search, you need to focus on the top of the funnel. Holistic brand awareness campaigns that showcase your best content. ?
Claudiu Cioba, Founder and CEO of VideoWise?
Social commerce is on the rise, and VideoWise is hands down the best tool you can use to bring shoppable videos to your e-commerce store website.?
As the CEO and Founder of VideoWise, Claudiu is an absolute expert on creating an enhanced customer experience that actually shortens the path to conversion.
So, what’s Claudiu’s advice for scaling with video marketing?
“Start properly using video on your website so that you can create a more immersive, real-life shopping experience for your visitors. You can better engage with them, better present your product, and better answer any questions about your product.”
You heard the man! If you have any user-generated content (UGC), such as customer review videos, get that stuff on your website!
Ariyeh Even Haim, Co-Founder, and CEO of ReConvert?
Ariyeh believes that scaling your e-commerce business is all about using harnessing every possible opportunity for conversion.?
ReConvert does just that. Its app allows you to optimize your Shopify ‘Thank You’ page so that you can cross-sell and upsell on a page that all your customers will see.

And Ariyeh wants to take conversion a step further. Let’s take a look at his advice for getting creative with conversion rate optimization (CRO).?
“Use the Error 404 page to optimize for conversion. Display, ‘Hey, welcome to our special 404 page, this special discount has been unlocked just for you!’ and display product recommendations. Maybe get them to subscribe to your email list. Anything that will help you keep them in your store will generate extra revenue.”
Darius Kunca, Co-Founder of AdKings
When it comes to scaling and generating revenue, Darius knows what he’s doing. At AdKings , Darius and his team have made over $204 million in e-commerce sales. As a self-described ‘marketing freak’, what’s Darius’s advice for scaling your e-commerce business?
“Get into omnichannel marketing. If you’re still reliant on one, two, three core marketing channels to drive 80% - 90% of your revenue and traffic, you’re in for a world of pain!”
Darius says that the clients that scale to over $30 million in revenue use omnichannel marketing. Omnichannel marketing is all about collecting as much customer data as you can and retargeting your customers on multiple channels.
Don’t just stop with Facebook ads, use TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, email marketing, SMS marketing…all that good stuff.
Andriy Boychuk, Founder of Flowium?
Ooft this is a smooth segway! Talking of customer data, let’s hear Andriy’s advice for collecting it.
Flowium is an e-commerce email marketing agency that boosts engagement and revenue with automated flows.
“Collect as much first-party data as possible. Use emails, SMS, if you have an app, get permission from your customers to send them push notifications.”
We all saw what happened in 2021. Those iOS updates said, “Third-party data, there’s the door.”
Owning your customer data is now more important than ever before. So collect it with your customer's permission! Take full advantage of SMS and email marketing to communicate with your customers, build a community, and understand their needs.?
Scaling your e-commerce is all about understanding your customer. So get on that first-party data analysis!
