5 Reasons Why You're Using LinkedIn Wrong

I believe LinkedIn is one of the best social media platforms out there to help market yourself or to grow your business or brand.

I also believe most people are still using LinkedIn the wrong way. So, in this blog article I'll give my 5 reason why I believe you're using LinkedIn the wrong way.

Reason No 1. Stop viewing LinkedIn as only a job search platform and start embracing it as an amazing business networking platform where invisible becomes visible.

Setup your profile so its positions you as an authority and expert in your field and start networking with the world.


Reason No 2. Most people still aren't active enough on LinkedIn so how are others supposed to find you and discover what you're all about.

LinkedIn and Social Media in general is all about activity and being found. Visibility = Credibility = Profitability.

Posting, Liking, Commenting, Sharing, Videos, Blog Posts, Groups.

Stop sitting on the sidelines and start getting involved.


Reason No 3. Not creating video content which is increasingly becoming the preferred way your customer or clients would rather engage with your business or brand.

And LinkedIn now makes this really easy so my tip is to start recording and uploading some short 2 minute videos explaining Who you are, What you do, Why you do it and How you help.

Reason No 4. People aren't growing their network so reach out and connect with other people and not just from your home city, state or country but be brave and say hello to the world.

Think of LinkedIn as the world's largest business networking event and the more people you say hello to the more potential for new opportunities will arise.

Reason No 5. Use the search function to find your ideal new customer, JV partner, supplier, resource etc etc

Yes, it's that simple and if people just use LinkedIn's search function, I can guarantee you will have an endless supply of new business opportunities.

Spend just 5 minutes a day search, reach out, say hello and then even pick up the phone and you could be well on the way to winning yourself a new customer or client.
