5 Reasons Why Your Purpose Isn't 4 Everyone … and That's OK

Your purpose isn't for everyone, and that's ok. We spend most of our lives looking for our purpose and the rest of our lives defending it. We do it in grade school when we say we want to be a doctor or superhero, and we do it again in college when choosing degrees. Some people find their purpose, but there are plenty of people who don't. Here are five reasons why your purpose isn't for everyone and why that shouldn't stop you.
Number 1: Your purpose isn't for everyone, and that's ok.
First of all, not everyone shares your purpose. It can be argued that no one has the same purpose as you because no one has your unique strengths. You are an individual living your own life, and that makes your purpose exclusive. Take advantage of this. Go be different... and make lots of money doing it!
Number 2: Your purpose isn't for everyone, and some people may not like it.
Some people may think your purpose is a pipe dream or a waste of time, but they don't have your purpose. It's impossible for someone who doesn't have your potential to see your path to greatness. It's true. If they tried your path they would probably fail. But they aren't you. Don't spend your life worrying about what other people think. If you do, you will never find the courage to do what you want. Embrace who you are and forget about the rest.
Number 3: Your purpose isn't for everyone, and sometimes you'll want a purpose that isn't yours.
We all go through stages when we are wrong about our purpose and want someone else's instead. We want to be cool or important or find something new that excites us. Leave those dreams behind with their proper owners. They may be exciting, but they won't get you to the finish line. Find your purpose and run with it.
Number 4: Your purpose isn't for everyone, but you need to accept it's for you.
Unlike passions, you don't get to choose your purpose. It's something you're born with that has been sitting right in front of you. Once you "discover" your purpose don't be afraid to go all out. There will always be naysayers in life who will tell you that you are going to fail. And it's only natural to be afraid of what these people will say, especially when it comes to the one thing that we feel we were born to master. Block these people out and go for it. The only way you'll fail is if you quit trying.
Number 5: Your purpose isn't for everyone, but make damn sure it's for you.
Despite our fears, we all want to win and be our best. Second place is just first place loser, and that's especially true when it comes to finding your purpose. It's bad enough to finish in second to someone else, but it's unacceptable to finish in second to yourself. Don't let yourself fall short of being the guy or girl you are supposed to be. Make sure you're tapping your full potential. The only way you can finish in first in your own life is by embracing the purpose and destiny that is yours.
