5 reasons why your bizz/career isn’t where it could be. And how to change that

Recently, when I was interviewed in a podcast, one of the questions the host asked me was: “Natalia, what motivated you to change from being a LinkedIn unicorn towards being a more holistic (online) business mentor?”
Besides my own career-related challenges and personal struggles, the fact that I saw so much potential and dormant, unexpressed creativity in the people I worked with made me sad. Imagine how these individuals could show up in this world if they reconnected to their true power!
Yes, and… I didn’t know how to help them get there. Because I didn’t fully embody my own energy, creativity and authenticity. So, I went on an inner journey to remember who I truly am, to integrate and let go of what wasn’t mine. And then learned the tools and techniques to guide fellow entrepreneurs as well.
The knowledge and tools that made a difference in my life
Today, with this article, I'd like to talk about five concepts that changed everything for me. Most of them weren’t (completely) new. But I unlocked aspects or nuances of them, which resulted in much more ease, joy and flow. Not only in my business but also in my private life.
Chances are high that applying the following teachings will enable you to create the foundation for your “dream career/business”, too.
1. The right routines and ecosystem
Many people know what they “have to do” to design healthy habits and a social environment that serves them. And they haven’t done so. They read, or heard about it, multiple times and the practical realization didn’t take place.
So, stop reading another book about millionaire habits and implement what you know. BTW, if it’s not books you’re consuming, it could be podcasts or online courses… ?? instead of getting another dopamine hit through “learning something new”, face the discomfort of breaking a behavioral pattern (a routine, habit, etc.) that doesn’t serve you anymore.
My personal biggest tweak here was creating enough space for creativity and inspiration to flow easily. My schedule was too packed and rigid. A phenomenon I see in the lives of many female entrepreneurs.?

2. Eradicating major stress sources
Until two years ago, I haven't learned how to maturely deal with stress. I didn’t understand where it comes from. And I would have never thought that I – not external sources – massively contributed to creating stress in my life. Being stressed appeared to be “normal”. Being busy seemed to be glorified in our society.
Being able to identify major stress sources and learning how to eliminate/deal with them wisely, freed up heaps of energy in my system. I’ve experienced a different level of vitality and with that unlocked a truer version of myself. With the right questions and guidance you can do that, too:?
Reflect on the questions: How do you contribute to stressing yourself? Let go of one of these habits today.
3. Simple, yet effective mindfulness techniques
If I had invested 1 Euro for each time, I’ve heard the sentence “Meditation isn’t for me”, I would’ve been able to buy a house from it by now. Jokes aside, similar as with the topic healthy habits, a lot of individuals know about the importance of mindfulness practices and don’t take aligned action.
Design the time to choose three simple and fun ones, apply them for 30 days and then observe how much more peaceful, joyful, and authentic you’ll feel.
Developing a “menu” with various mindfulness techniques was a game-changer for me. Instead of doing the same things every day, I now look at my list of mediation and mindfulness exercises and choose the one that feels good to me in that moment.

4. Experiencing (more) joy, inspiration, and awe
Another challenge entrepreneurs regularly approach me with is: “Natalia, I feel so uninspired”. Or something along the lines that their life feels dull and joy-free. I’ve experienced the same in the past. It doesn’t have to be that way. With the right set of filters and decisions, we can invite more inspiration and awe into our lives without flying to Bali.
I was allowed to step out of my “inner victim mode”: I’ve stopped feeling bitter and disappointed, waiting for someone to design these moments for me. Instead, I actively daily gifted myself with what I deeply wanted and wished for.
Dare to contemplate on the questions: What inspires you? What brings you joy?
5. The art of the inner dialogue
When you’re full of internal conflict, you’ll automatically create conflict on the outside in your career, business, with your clients, team members, suppliers, etc.
I had no clue that the outer world is “just” a mirror of our inside world. Learning a tool, which allowed me to “clean up on the inside” and reconnect with who I really am felt revolutionary to me. I’m sure this can be true for you as well.
Face your inner demons: What outer conflict actually represents an inner conflict you have??
Conclusion
Making the most of your business and career in 2024 requires more than “hard skills” like marketing, sales, project management, and financial skills.
One of the main reasons why people feel stuck, or struggle is because they lack a solid, mature “soft skills” foundation. And this foundation requires attributes like honesty, emotional intelligence, self-care, mindfulness, creativity, self-contemplation, and vulnerability.
There’s no need to feel bad or ashamed about it if you haven’t fully developed these qualities yet. They are skills like swimming or speaking Spanish. You can always grow into the next level of yourself by saying yes to learning something new. ??
