5 reasons why you have to make friends with AI

5 reasons why you have to make friends with AI

Artificial intelligence has been on the wave for several years. Everything is smart - cars, smartphones, even toys.

It's around us!

Even so, when it comes to our work, we still think that nothing will change, and all the projects we hear about will remain in laboratories for many years.

They will not!

Regardless of your position, AI (Artificial Intelligence) will change your professional and private life.

It's time to wake up and prepare!

  1. AI is already so "human like" that the first regulations appeared, which "force" chatbots to inform the user that he/she is talking to the machine.
  2. AI can not only search and analyze information, but also analyze the context, build arguments and participate in debates with people.
  3. AI can dominate the information market. The latest algorithms are so good that their creators are afraid to make them public for fear of flooding the world with fake news.
  4. AI paints and sells its paintings, writes articles and novels that win prizes, direct films and trailers, and even devises sounds and flavors we have not known yet.
  5. AI is already more effective in many areas of life. You will find many research results, where the computer did something more accurately, faster, better, cheaper than experts in a given field.

For now, the machines do it unconsciously ...

Time to pack and run to less developed countries? On the contrary. It's time to make friends with it and start using this new tool in our work.

What is the use of artificial intelligence in education? (random order, consistent with the appearance of ideas in the author's head;) The end may surprise you..

  1. All kinds of chatbots are perfect as virtual assistants providing contextual information about the subject we are dealing with. Do you remember the Matrix and the helicopter flying scene? This is the first step;)
  2. At the moment, AI is able to write texts that aspire to literary prizes (and write film scripts that ... are quite specific;) Recently, the world was hit with news about an algorithm that, based on a short text fragment, can write its continuation while retaining author's style. It is very dangerous in the context of fake news, but you can imagine how perfect it is to write training materials.
  3. Thinking the other way - if AI is able to understand the context of a text and expand it, it may as well shorten it by creating perfect summaries.
  4. Artificial intelligence begins to take part in debates and face protein based opponents aka humans. It uses information and statistics for his arguments, which it finds on the web. The difficulty is that in addition to understanding the topic, you must also refer to the arguments of the other party on an ongoing basis. It turns out, however, that computers are learning quickly. Imagine training in assertiveness or negotiation, where we face a difficult e-opponent who is always ready and never tires.
  5. Typical e-learning tests are quite simple and do not have such strength as open questions. This is because the computer is unable to analyze the sense of the question and answer. We have to "tell" him that in question 1 the correct answer is A, and we leave him only to check what the participants click on. This may change soon. AI can already capture the context from the information set, thanks to which it can not only analyze the longer written response of the trainee, but also give valuable feedback.
  6. And since we're already testing, there's probably no one who likes to prepare them. However, there are already the first tools on the market that automate this process - you load the text and review the finished question by introducing possible corrections.
  7. If you can create texts and tests, why not go a step further and not create from the beginning to the end of online training using artificial intelligence? In a big simplification - we upload the materials, give information about the target group, press the magic button and get the material ready. I have not met such a tool yet, but there are already first solutions going in this direction.
  8. When we have materials, we can design an individual training plan for each employee in our company. I mean, we could do it if we had a staff of people who only deal with this. This problem disappears with the use of AI, which is able to analyze the tasks and effectiveness of each person, check the training history, compare this information with the best people in similar positions, examine the competence needs in the organization and design an individual development path. In the first step, it is enough to analyze the training programs and how they influence effectiveness of employees;)
  9. And for dessert, the final domination of machines. Since computers will be able to design materials and training paths for everyone, they can equally effectively design / monitor processes and, in fact, take over training management in the company. The role of people comes down to pointing to data sources and learning...machines;) What a reversal of roles!

Will it be like that in 10 years? I do not know, but I'm sure it will be different than now and we have to be ready for these changes.

Great article - thank you Bartek. Just to clarify - the deck was prepared by Shweta Panwar and Debamitra Dasgupta. I was just a sponsor of this deliverable... :)
