When pitching to the rest of your team or boss, having some stats behind a great idea, could make all the difference.
- 55% of people watch videos online every day (1) hat equates to billions of people, around the world, every single day. A lot of these videos will of course be produced by brands, we know video is capturing peoples attention, now is the time to be part of it.
- Paid YouTube mobile advertising is 84% more likely to receive viewers attention than TV Ads. (2) As more people opt for social media platforms and over the top services like Netflix; TV & TV Advertising as we know it, is seeing a decline. Although TV advertising still has some merits, it is no longer the gold standard that it was regarded. TV viewing habits these days usually involves multiple screens, hence why viewer attention rates are much higher on YouTube.
- 4X as many consumers would rather watch a video about a product than reading about it (3) We're all getting lazy. Ahem. I mean busy! For many people, it is a no brainer whether they would rather read four paragraphs of information, or watch a 60 second video. Making the switch to video, could be the key in getting and keeping your target audience's attention.
- 76.5% of professional marketers and SMB owners are seeing results with video marketing (4) Marketing is maths. Your promotional film, your testimonial video, your social media video adverts absolutely have to show some return. That might be customers, leads, subscribers, engagement etc. But set a goal and measure your video success.
- Over 50% of internet users looked for videos related to a product or service before visiting a store. (5) And finally we see why so many marketers are having success with video. This behaviour of looking online for videos before purchasing is not going away and is only set to increase. We as a society are obsessed with the amount of information we have at our fingertips whilst simultaneously often not having the time or inclination to read lots of info. Instead, we watch a video.
