5 reasons why local authorities should join us at AutomotiveEV

The current climate emergency is putting increasing pressure on local councils to act now. Clean air zones, zero-emission zones and congestion zones are all high on the agenda but pose some real challenges to any public body and raise more questions than they immediately solve.

When will vehicle supply allow real zero-emission zones to exist, without stopping the heart of a city? Will vehicles be hybrid, pure battery or hydrogen? What infrastructure is really required to support electric car uptake? Will we have fully autonomous vehicles on our streets and if so what infrastructure is required?

We’ve introduced the public sector stage at AutomotiveEV this October 8th, to help address some of those questions.

Here are just five reasons why local authorities should join us:

Overcome some of the challenges facing your area

Throughout the day, you’ll hear from a range of people who are facing the same challenges. By joining us you’ll gain an overview of where to start with supporting low emission vehicle uptake and how to put steps in place to practically deliver your plans. Our intent is that people will leave more confident in the knowledge that they have to do something but with the tools required to justify their decisions. Expand your knowledge of electric vehicles and find solutions to problems facing every city.

Get a reality check

Governments throughout the world are setting some tough targets to increase uptake of electric vehicles but what is the reality? Are there enough cars and vans to hit the political targets? How many charging points are really needed to support electric cars now? And how many will be needed in the future as the market grows? We’ll address some of the realities facing the UK in terms of uptake figures to help you set the right targets for your area.

Find out how to use data to make value for money decisions

Data is the foundation of all decisions. Without data we are all just people with an opinion. We’ll be showing delegates how to use reliable data to make the right decisions on your infrastructure plans. We’ll be looking at what’s needed and required now and into the long term, helping you to understand how technology changes in infrastructure will affect any roll-out plans.

Learn from the people who’ve done it

We’ve brought together some of the forerunners and innovators to share their experience and learnings - both good and bad. Combined with our own experience of helping cities from across the UK - from London to Aberdeenshire because we know every location is unique. We’ll all be touching upon our insight into what can and can not be achieved in the timescales involved and with the challenge of this rapidly changing technology. Helping you to understand what could work in your area.

Be part of a bigger industry event

Our public sector stage is part of the larger AutomotiveEV conference which promises to be a regular event in the EV calendar. Get to meet and network with some of the major players in the industry and make connections that can help you on your journey.

Join us on October 8th in Coventry. Be part of the electric vehicle movement and join a rapidly expanding network of local authority innovators willing to share their own strategies that are clearing the air in their local areas.

All public sector bodies are eligible to an exclusive discount: use the code PSS95 at the checkout.
