5 Reasons Why Donald Trump Should be Your Marketing Manager

5 Reasons Why Donald Trump Should be Your Marketing Manager

What could your marketing manager learn from the most CONTROVERSIAL man in the world? Read our Einstein’s 5 Reasons to find out...

Hate him or love him…

…you’ve heard of Donald Trump.

And no, his recent ascent to the most POWERFUL man in world isn’t the reason.

You knew him before that. Your mother knew him before that. Even our social media manager had heard of him.

The word TRUMP generates awareness, opinion and instant recognition.

That’s marketing DYNAMITE.

Maybe your marketing manager should pick up a few tricks from one of the world’s most recognisable figures.

Here’s 5 reasons why:

1) Social Media Presence

How many followers has your marketing manager developed on all social media platforms? And how often are they using them?

We bet it isn’t as many as Trump’s Twitter following.

Today, it stands at 47.9 Million. To put that into real world perspective, that’s more than the populations of Australia, Greece, New Zealand, Croatia and Jamaica COMBINED.

If that sort of audience reach wasn’t enough, check out these audience engagement stats:

-Average retweets (per tweet)- 25,854

-Average likes (per tweet)- 109,271

Pretty cool, eh?

Donald Trump posts an average of 4 tweets per day to get these results. How many times are you posting?

2) Always Thinking BIG

It’d be so easy for Einstein to reference his rise from Businessman to President here.

In fact, there are so many BIG THINKING moves in his career, it’s hard to pick one out but…

…we love the TRUMP TOWER project.

It’s big, BOLD, brash and unapologetically in-your-face.

Construction of the tower came under a number of planning permission disputes, but he still managed to push it through.

TRUMP TOWER stands at 58-stories, includes shops, cafes, offices, residences and a 60ft waterfall sided with suspended walkways and a huge skylight.

The residences sold out rapidly, it quickly became a tourist attraction and even the set of a hit television show (The Apprentice).

None of that would have happened without the VISION to THINK BIG.

What do your marketing plans look like? Are they big enough?

3) Polarising/Controversial

All news is good news (pretty much).

Pick up a national newspaper and see how many times Trump’s name is mentioned. Einstein’s sure, there’s at least one reference to a CONTROVERSIAL or polarising statement.

Whether you agree, or disagree, it doesn’t matter. He’s gained exposure without paying a penny.

Has your business been doing the same?

If you’re short of ideas, check out the TITLE of this blog. Trump’s such a controversial figure, we’ve coat-tailed his reputation to peak your interest!

4) Risk Taker

Calculated risks get rewards. Every marketing mogul in history can hang their hat on a succession of WELL-TIMED risks.

Trump’s no difference.

He inherited a family business in real-estate, made it even more successful and branched out into other industries.

Some of his products won’t be remembered, but every one of his marketing failures will be OUTSHONE by his successes.

That’s what happens to AWESOME risk takers. They understand the gravity of success, and they make it happen more often than not.

5) Brand Focused

Think Trump? What’s the first thing that springs to mind?

-The hair?

-Controversy?

-Presidency?

-Business success?

-The Tower?

-The Apprentice?

Everything he does comes back to Donald Trump’s personal branding. EVERYTHING.

The man (and his team) are geniuses at it.

Take a look at your marketing strategies, do they have the same effect? What does your audience instantly think of when they see your brand? Are you recognisable?

5) Donald Trump as your Marketing Manager

If your business was able to coax the President of the United States to leave his post as the most powerful man in the world, you’d be guaranteed a whirlwind of publicity and marketing exposure.

But…

…that’s not going to happen. So, for now, just stick to those 5 reasons and apply them to your marketing strategies.

Before we go, Einstein would like to share our favourite quote from a man who epitomises the term ‘Mr. Marmite’.

“You can’t con people, at least not for long. You can create excitement, you can do wonderful promotion and get all kinds of press, and you can throw in a little hyperbole. But if you don’t deliver the goods, people will eventually catch on.”

Cheers for reading, and good luck keeping the hair, Mr. President.
