Now, beginner and advanced users let their imagination run at the same pace as new technologies are forming.

3. Interdisciplinary Innovation
Programs like TouchDesigner and vvvv have something in common: they are node-based tools. Meaning, while they run complicated code in the background, a user encounters a visual interface; boxes that the users can add, drag and link together to create effects and build a system. Node based tools allow for both programmers that are already familiar with code, as well as artists coming from little to no coding experience, to dive straight in and be able to build their own experiences. These tools allow for interdisciplinary collaborations.?
Our students come from a range of backgrounds. Dancers looking to understand how technology can serve as an extension to their practice; engineers looking for a more creative outlet and means of expressions; motion designers excited by the possibilities of realtime creation as opposed to waiting hours for a result; and others looking for a career change.? The hybrid nature of creative computation not only enriches each discipline but also fosters collaborations, and drives new ways of thinking and problem-solving.
