5 reasons why companies should adopt “Remote Working Universe”

The last time I woke up to a crazy thought was when Iron Man and Black Widow get killed in Avengers: End Game.

The other thought probably was that when they said only techies can actually work from home and the rest of the world as they said, must follow the norms.

What norms?

And what does it even mean?

Its 2022 and the world is still cocooned into its own shell.

Work is happening.

Business is happening and life as we know it is still happening, with work… with life… and the balancing act is just the new normal.

Billions of dollars spent in the real estate business and now its second to none.

Your home, your place is your new office.

?The world is your city, state and your country. There is no better time than now to explore options even remotely possible for professionals. Everyone is jumping into the bandwagon and you should be the first to piggy ride onto this.

?There are many reasons why companies must offer their avengers “Work from anywhere” option.

?Here are five of them:

?Reason #1: A borderless office!

“It’s not enough to be against something. You have to be for something better.”~ Tony Stark, Captain America: Civil War

You no longer have any reason to say that you have run out of resumes. Fire your HR if they say anything like that!

You are based in your country, but get talent that demand specific kind of skillsets. Which you can scout beyond your country. Try your neighbours or maybe some far away land.

You can hire anyone, from anywhere in the world and that will be a truly global workforce.

Global will be the new local.

Reason #2: I love you 3000

“No amount of money ever bought a second of time.” ~ Tony Stark, Avengers: Endgame

Employee retention is the single most challenge for business owners.

It’s a tough call on the management and tougher for HR department.

On one side performance is key, growing your business and then even worse dealing with employee turnover. With an option of remote working option, you will have lesser employee turnover.

The reason employees change their jobs are for a variety of reasons: Including but not limited to Location, Restlessness and Life planning, and restlessness. Employees will never give reasons for leaving like, the place Is far away from my home or the road leading to our office is usually traffic logged and so on.

Seven in ten employees when surveyed by HR software company Zenefits mentioned that flexible working was as important to them as health and pay benefits.

Flexible working arrangements accommodate these life changes without forcing people to change jobs. Employees who can work from any place they choose, easily meet family commitments, and pursue their hobbies are more likely to stick around.

Reason #3: Employees are working more than ever!

“What did it cost? Everything.” -Gamora/ Thanos, Avengers: Infinity War

I mean that’s serious. I know of a friend whose office timings (Pre-pandemic) was 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM. And most of their official duties would be spent towards travelling (To and Fro), chatting, snacking and the least priority would be given to work. So imagine in a 8 hour work day, only 3 hours would be spent on work while the rest you can imagine.

Did you see? In this whole day you spoilt this employee with food, drinks, office facility, commute… You have spent approx. 50$-75$ on this person. Now add this cost to your workforce and see how much your have spent on them per day.

Their contribution on the other hand, for the day was less than 3 hours from their 8-hour work schedule.

Cut to 2022, the same employee is piled up in work and while their day still starts at 11:00 AM, it ends way beyond 11:00PM. It’s funny but employees now work more than ever without even realizing how much time they have spent on their job.

Now you do the math!

Reason #4: No more excuses

“I choose to run towards my problems, and not away from them. Because that’s what heroes do.” ~ Thor, Thor: Ragnarok

Seriously?

That’s your excuse for today?

None of your employees will have to make any creative excuses. Yes, while they make for great watercooler conversations, Your folks will no more have excuses to offer. There is none actually. They are right there at home or wherever, but being a workday, they will work, they will turn up.

They might be a lil’ bit late here and there. But they will work (Atleast during the working hours) I mean seriously, none excuses will be given. Rest assured.

Reason #5: Dressed up or dressed down?????????????

“If you’re nothing without this suit, then you shouldn’t have it.” -Tony Stark, Spider-Man: Homecoming

A company who invited its employees after more than 2 years to come to office with the clothes they were wearing for meetings and the result was hilarious. See that’s what I am saying. When you are focused on video based virtual meetings, its usually bust and above. And who cares what they wear below. With this kind of a set-up you as managers, bosses may call upon a meeting anytime. Maybe in the next minute or so. And trust me, your folks will turn up…irrespective what lies beneath… but will be topped with something better!

And you can be rest assured that they will TURN UP!

For you to have your own Marvel’ous Universe, give your employees remote working options. Who knows there never will be an end game!
