5 reasons we love bullet points: Value at a glance

Given the choice between two articles, with one including something along the lines of "5 ways to be More Awesomer" or "7 Secrets to Ultra Success," I will chose the option of speed reading. Blame it on social media or just the growth of businesses on the internet, WE LOVE BULLET POINTS. So without further ado, here's what you clicked on this post for today!

1. We want agendas. "If you come to the table, you better bring something to eat," is a great quote from my colleague David Bailey.

2. We want to remember. Numeric outlines increase our chances of grasping the basic concepts of articles.

3. We want it to be fast. Between how many options of news and entertainment we have, value must be brought swift and brief.

4. We want to be the narrative, not read it. Journalism is key in sharing information we should be talking about. Now we want to join that conversation and not just witness.

5. We want to share. How hard is it to convince another person to read something you found interesting? This organization of articles makes sharing with others simple.

Underlying principle is that we love agendas. Organize your posts and notes with a clearly stated outline and it will be read and shared more often.
