The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA) consists of 48 miles of river across three different land units (Island Ford, Powers Island, and East Palisades) and 22 miles of river shoreline. Operated by the National Park Service, the CRNRA is open year-round from sunrise to sunset. It’s a great setting for a leisurely riverbank picnic, a hike along the trails, or a day on the water paddling or fishing. Make sure to hike your way to the local-favorite bamboo forest, located on the East Palisades - Indian Trail. It's about 3-4 mile round trip hike, but well worth the payoff at the end! You can also enjoy Bull Sluice Lake at Morgan Falls Overlook Park, located above Morgan Falls Dam.
