5 reasons to listen and 6 shows for #internationalpodcastday

It's #internationalpodcastday, and here is why I love the medium so much. I am sure there is science behind it, but my personal auditory joy is nurtured by:

  1. It's me time...no distractions.
  2. Deep thought and engagement with a topic and someone else who's passionate about what they are sharing. Inspiration through the passion and expertise of others.
  3. Learn about anything...literally, if you can think of it, there is a podcast about it (rule 35?)
  4. Diversity of experience and worldviews. I listen to a broad range pods...it helps me see the world more completely
  5. The baud rate at 2.5x playback speed is insane. The human brain's capacity to ingest information is phenomenal. My humble apologies to sound designers everywhere...I am a philistine...but I am turning your sh*t up to 11.

So here are some of the greats that?inspire the?joyful work that is my partnership on DiscoveryMatters with Dodi and Andrea

Stuff the British Stole yeah...a rich actually judgment-free insight into Britain's colonial past. Mechanical tigers, oh my!

Everyone hates marketers - Louis Grenier is sometimes a bit cross, but says what everyone is thinking. Well...what everyone could be thinking if marketers did things the right way.

Goodnight Azania despite a lifetime away, Africa is still my home.

Science vs. - @WendyZuk and team are ridiculously thorough and excited about an equally ridiculous spread of fabulous science reporting

You’re wrong about I love being proven wrong. It's how to see the world a little bit more clearly every day. Thank you Sarah Marshall and Michael Hobbs

No such thing as a fish How come I know so much completely useless stuff? This is how - the elves tell me...

I am hooked! Discovery matters is great, very weird but strangely comforting to hear your voice again Conor. Who would have thought our A level Physics and Chem experience would have brought us hear! Thanks for the casts really appreciate your work.

Yes, you're wrong about! Also try 'Maintenance Phase' by one of the same presenters. They debunk health and wellness topics like BMI, obesity epidemic, Keto diet and all of Oprah Winfrey's guests of the 90s - what's not to love!
