5 Reasons To Get A Virtual Assistant

There is a lot of buzz these days about utilizing virtual assistants (VA) and for good reason. Whether you hire one or more assistants on a project basis or utilize a dedicated, full-time assistant, VAs can significantly increase the effectiveness and efficiency for people with a lot of responsibility. And any opportunity to gain an edge in a world that is becoming more competitive by the day is one worth pursuing. Here are 5 reasons to get a VA:

1. You can’t get all of your work done

“I’m never busy” said no business owner, ever. Let’s face it, from increasing customer expectations to managing a changing workforce, there is more needed now to succeed in business than there ever has been and the pace of change is increasing. There is so much to do. My VA has taken about 30% of my responsibilities off of my plate enabling me to get my important work done.

2. You do not have time for your high value activities

High valued activities, which vary by person, can include bringing in new business, mentoring your team, working on client projects and addressing strategic issues. For most people, urgent tasks often get addressed before the important, high value tasks that drive the meaningful results in your business (and your life). A VA takes many of the urgent tasks off of your plate enabling you do spend time on improving your business results.

3. You know doing administrative tasks is not a good use of your time

I spend the majority of my time on phone or in-person meetings. Setting those up, especially when there are more than 2 people involved, can not only take a lot of time going back and forth to find times that work for everyone, but can be a little maddening. My VA does this with a smile.

4. You don't enjoy the detail

It is a challenge to be detailed oriented while thinking big picture. My VA has a lot more patience than I do.

5. You want more time in the day.

I figure that my assistant takes at least 2 hours of work off my plate each day and that number is on the low side since I also have more uninterrupted time to work on strategic projects.

By the way, these reasons apply to your team as well as you.

With today’s technology, a virtual assistant can do about 90% of the tasks that an in-person assistant does, often at a much lower cost. If you relate to at least one of the above reasons, consider hiring a VA sooner than later.
