5 Reasons Followers Love Your Brand: A Love Letter

If you know me, you know that Valentine’s (Hart) Day is my favorite holiday and the only day of the year I wear color (red). My identical twin and partner Lorrie at TwinEngine, a Certified B Corp and I were recently interviewed and asked why followers are loyal to certain brands. In the spirit of ‘Hart’ Day, we share what we love about our favorite brands:

1. I LOVE THAT WE CAN KEEP IT REAL.

Don’t get jealous when you read this, but there have been other brands in the past. But one thing that is different with you is that you keep it real. So many brands make such outrageous promises for things that they have no intention of keeping or they just tell me things they think I want to hear. You don’t; you keep it 100% real. I can trust what you say and know that you will keep your brand promise. I’ll let you in on a little secret. We can actually spot a “fake” brand from a mile away. Being phony is just a surefire way to push us into the arms of another brand. You, my favorite, stand out from the other brands because of your consistent honesty. I can easily recognize you, even in the virtual spaces we share today, I have the trust that you will keep your word and your messaging actually means something to me. Keepin' it real is how you create brand loyalty, and I sure am loyal to you.?

2. I LOVE THAT WE SHARE THE SAME VALUES.

There is nothing more meaningful than a brand whose values and actions align with my core beliefs. It goes beyond liking so-and-so’s products because they look pretty because it’s not just about the superficial things. That is how brands create shallow relationships, yeah sure I’ll buy a couple of their items every so often, but I won’t fall in love with their brand. You, my favorite brand, are clear about what you stand for and you communicate that purpose to the world . At your brand’s core, you and I stand for the same thing. We are able to form a deeper connection that is based on our values aligning. The brands I use are an outward reflection of who I am so what I look for is a brand that makes their values a huge part of what they are and what they do. And you do that. It feels like you get me, as more than just a generic consumer, but you understand me as an individual.?

3. I LOVE THAT YOU ARE THERE WHEN I NEED YOU.?

You make it a point to be precisely where I need you to be. You get me, and all of the content you develop proves it. You understand who I am, what motivates me and what information I need. Whether it’s your funny Tweets, custom Zoom background, or those amazing emails announcing a new offer, an offer that you know I will like, you have a way of engaging me in ways other brands can’t. To say that I am your one and only consumer would be a lie, but you sure have a way of making me feel like I’m the only one you have eyes for. Brands that try hard to engage you with mass marketing and impersonal messages just don’t get it. I don’t want to be bombarded with meaningless messages nor do I want to spend endless amounts of time weeding through information to find exactly what I am looking for. It’s harder to connect when we aren’t together, but you still know what I need to hear and you are there for me when I need you, that thoughtfulness keeps me thinking of you.?

4. I LOVE ALL THE LITTLE THINGS.?

You get that it takes more for me to love a brand than just a pretty logo. Love takes time to build, and you know it is about all the little things adding up. To me a brand has to have it all, it isn’t just about having a good product, a flashy commercial or a catchy tagline. You understand that it is about the entire experience you provide. When I think of you, I can instantly recall all the great memories we have together and all the stories we have created throughout our relationship, and I feel happy. That is what it means to be a real brand. Your brand is made up of the memories, the stories, the expectations and the relationship we've built that all taken together are the reasons I choose you over some random brand. So it isn’t just the one or five things I love about you, it’s about everything you provide, what you stand for, your honesty, and your authenticity—your entire experience. I miss being with you face-to-face, but I know you are always there for me. So what you, my favorite brand, have to offer is more than just a product, it’s a special experience that is made up of all these smaller things that I love about you. This letter to you only begins to describe how much you mean to me. Even through this crisis, we have grown together, making us who we are today, and I love the me that I am with you.?

5. FAVORITE BRAND, THIS IS ONLY JUST THE BEGINNING OF OUR STORY.

This letter only begins to describe how much you mean to me. You are how and why I Stand Out as a Thought Leader . I love the me that I am with you.?We are in a long-term relationship, and I’m here to stay!
