5?? Reading for Fun and Relevant?Science

Each Friday, I send out a newsletter to a growing community of dedicated educators. I revisit each issue and record the top five things that resonated with me.

Here are 5 takeaways from this?issue.

  1. Nearly half of teachers do not read for pleasure. It’s good medicine for a stressed-out educator. Reading for pleasure can relieve stress and keep your brain sharp. Try reading before bed, it helps you sleep.
  2. Incorporating brain breaks into your classroom routines helps students recharge and maintain focus. Physical activities, mindfulness exercises, and short walks can improve overall well-being and reduce stress. They’ve been a game-changer in my classroom!
  3. When using AI, the prompt matters. Here are a few tips for teachers when using AI: 1. Be clear and specific about what you want the AI to do. 2?. Provide examples and guidelines to ensure accurate responses. 3?. Test and iterate to refine your prompts for better results.
  4. By decluttering you can experience a more enjoyable journey in education. Slow down. Let things go. Leave school at school. As Henry David Thoreau wisely said, “A man is rich in proportion to the number of things that he can afford to let alone.”
  5. “Perseverance is the act of true educators who never give up, and who never let the fear of failure defeat them.”?—?Unknown
