You've put in a lot of work to get to the interview stage and for some, this might be your only opportunity to ask questions face to face with the company you might be joining. There's plenty of questions you could ask but you may not have time to ask them all so here are five questions you may want to ask before you walk out the door:
What will a typical day look like?
The job description is just a black and white document so here's your chance to hear from the horse's mouth so to speak about what really goes on in the day to day.
What made you join the company and where do you believe it's going?
It's good to get an insight into the reasons why the person interviewing you joined the company in the first place and if they are if those reasons still hold true. It's good to hear about the vision of the company and might reaffirm what you have already heard about its direction.
What makes a person successful in the company?
This gives you an idea of their expectations of what successful people look like at the company and if you have those attributes. You may decide they don't align to you so gives you a better insight and decision-making.
Is there anyone else you'd like me to meet with while I'm here today?
This might save another round of interviews and if there is anyone else competing for the role and you make a good impression on someone else; it may give you the edge. Plus you'll get to meet someone else to get another opinion of the people in the company.
If I'm successful and the right person for you; when would you ideally want me to start?
This will give you a better idea of timelines; whether that can work for you and how serious they are about moving the process forward.
