5 Questions every Leader must ask Themselves

Taking a leadership position could be a mere role in the organization; a place of authority but being a leader is a great responsibility. Leadership is not a position it is a mindset.
Here are five questions every leader must ask themselves to keep their roles relevant and their contribution meaningful - because nothing damages an organization more than a non-value-adding leader.
1. What is driving me:
The absence of compelling reason pulls down the energy level of the leader and thus that of the whole team. Leaders must spend time on doing sanity checks to keep themselves and their contributions meaningful to the team. What is my biggest contribution to the team?
2. Am I aligned?
In a time of rapid changes, the goals and direction of the organization keep on shifting and so does that of the leader.
The leader must make his or her goals synchronized with that of the organization to support in its journey of growth.?

3. Do I have the right to lead the organization?
Setting the right example and having the required competence are prerequisites that make a leader ethically eligible to lead. It is thus a leader's duty to heavily invest in learning to lead others and demonstrating high standards of moral values.
4. Can I create high performing team?
That is the prime responsibility of a leader - to attract and retain the right talents. As a leader, you must be very clear to express your vision to your team and use the right methods of engagement to train them.
5. Am I creating positive work culture?
A leader must create the right conducive atmosphere where all other team members become comfortable in taking the creative risk of improving their offerings.
Disengaged employees eventually becomes unhappy and thus unproductive. It is a leader's ability to identify and leverage unique talents for the benefit of their company.
