5 Questions to Ask Yourself if you Think you Have Efficient Systems and Processes

One thing we hear often is, "my systems and processes are in a good place", but

Here are 7 questions to ask yourself to see if your #systems and #processes are going to stand the test of time (through the #growth and #scaling of your company)....

  1. Does your team have a clear view of what they have on their to dos for at least 2 weeks? Or are priorities constantly changing and you/your team are spending more time trying to determine what is actually the priority!
  2. Are projects constantly hitting their deadlines? Or is every project a sprint to the finish line and everyone is feeling #overworked.
  3. When you hire a new employee is there a clear path on how they will succeed in that role? Or do you hire and hope for the best? One thing we see often is business's hire amazing #talent, but with no training plan in place, you leave these people to sink.
  4. Do you/your team have a clear idea of where they can find all information? Or are some things on google drive, text message, email, someone's head?
  5. Can the business run without you for a few days (...few weeks)? Or does the business heavily rely on you and if you're not there things don't move?

Recreating the wheel and not having a consistent process, creates confusion, wastes money, and leaves no room for actual improvement.

That doesn't mean you aren't consistently tweaking things to make them better, but it means that you are consistently moving through the same process every time you repeat an action in the business.

And if there is a process that does not work....

You make the minor tweaks based off whatever feedback you received (...if it calls for change - not all feedback requires change) and you move forward.

No consistent process = no room for improvement.

One great place to start, is to create a Roles and Responsibilities document. I have a really easy template that will walk you through creating this.

Getting clear on what everyone in the company should be responsible for helps you understand who should be doing what in every process.
