Do you want to feel more content in yourself? Do you wish the work problems would just calm down so you can think straight?
One thing I know for sure is you cannot change the world around you. Sure, you can influence it, but unhappiness, stress and frustration happens when you want the situation to be different than it is.
If you can't change the situation, you have GOT to change how you think about the the situation.
Here are 5 tips to feel more content and happy... yes these actually work!
?1. Let it be easy. Life doesn’t have to be as hard as you are making it. Sure, you have deadlines, responsibilities, financial worries, work pressure.
But subconsciously maybe you like it to be hard. Maybe your whole life has been hard and your way of dealing with that was by work work work.
Have you ever thought that there might be another way? Give yourself permission to go easier on yourself.
?2. Reframing the situation.
When something goes wrong we tend to get sucked into a vortex of negative thinking.
But by reframing the situation and seeing it differently, you can instantly change your mood.
Instead of saying “I have to do this” change to “I get to do this”.
For example, I can’t believe I have to start recruiting again. Reframe to “ Isn’t it great I get to connect with new people and give others an opportunity that will change their life”.
Another example might be when you make a mistake at work. Instead of saying "I can't believe I messed up. I am a failure"... Reframe to "Everyone makes mistakes, its part of life. I am resourceful and whole and I will figure this out... I am not a victim to my own mind".
?3. Daily Gratitude practice.
Every morning when you wake up, think of 3 things you are grateful for. It might be the bed you are in, something that happened, the dream you had.
Just pick 3 things and allow yourself to really feel into those positive feelings. Its not enough just to say it, you have to experience the feelings in your body.
By regularly practicing gratitude, you will train your mind to look for the positives.
Practicing gratitude and really feeling into it, raises your vibration and you will attract more positives into your life... SCIENTIFIC FACT!!

?4. Look for the gift or opportunity in every problem.
Instead of seeing all the problems, look for the solutions.
Make it fun! Work doesn’t have to be so serious all the time. Problems occur every single day in the workplace yet most leaders are surprised! Instead of feeling anxious, stressed and charging your body with negative energy, see it as a game! Now hear me out. I know the corporate world is very serious but what if it didn't have to be? What if every time a big problem occurred you got a bit playful with it and started hunting for solutions? What might be different for you?
The events of the day will occur regardless, so you may as well navigate the day in a positive mindset rather than going around like the profit of doom!
And when you come from a place of fun, your energy will be vibrating at a higher frequency so you are much more likely to find fantastic solutions to the problem that occurred.
Did you ever notice when one problem occurs and everyone gets in a negative spin that more problems occur? When those metrics go red or at risk of going red, the energy is SO NEGATIVE that it attracts more negativity!
Trust me, this is scientific fact. It's quantum physics. You attract what you put out. So if you are omitting a negative energy, you will attract more negativity. So its crucial, especially in times of crisis that you dig deep and find the fun, playfulness and solutions as opposed to looking only at the problems. Make sense?
?5. Celebrate success, especially the small wins daily.
Take the time every day to celebrate your wins and good things.
Even the small things.
Smile more, even fake smile and you can trick your body into believing you are happy!
When you change your physical state, you change your biochemistry. You hold all the power to do this in an instant, but most people don't know how.
Here's a quick tip. You can do the "power pose" as coined by Amy Cuddy, Social Psychologist. Amy Cuddy’s TED Talk ‘Your body language shapes who you are’ is the second most viewed TED Talk of all time, clocking over 40 million views . Her research on body language reveals that we can change other people’s perceptions and our own body chemistry — simply by changing body positions.
Tony Robbins recommends posing like a superhero with your hands on your hips, shoulders back and allowing yourself to feel strong and powerful for 2 minutes. This has been scientifically proven to change your biochemistry, making you feel more powerful and in control. Try it! It really works.
