5 Pieces of Simple Advice for Graduates
We are in the heart of graduation season, which means you will read many eloquent, deep and insightful pieces about navigating life successfully. This is not one of those posts!
Instead, someone asked me recently what five pieces of simple advice I’d give to future business leaders. This is my top of mind list.
1. Work hard. The best leaders work the hardest.
2. Develop resilience. Things will go wrong.
3. Develop a sense of positivity. You will encounter setbacks. If you adopt an attitude of “life is unfair,” you will be miserable.
4. Be humble and pursue knowledge always. Your entire life. The best leaders never stop learning from others.
5. Be self-aware. Make sure people know they have permission to tell you the truth. We all have blind spots.
I wish each of you spectacular success in all you do. I look forward to hearing the ways you will make your organizations and the world better.
