When I was starting out, I was not ambitious, lolz.
I just wanted to do a #job that gets me #money to support my education, and contribute to my family income.
It looks funny when I think about it now, but I just wished to get married one day, and stay at home chilling out.
Can you believe that?
But that’s the truth.
I didn’t know that life has something much bigger in store for me, and I deserved so much better than just that.
As I am writing this piece, I am in the often called “Yoga and Meditation Capital’ of India - Rishikesh, one of my favourite places, for the past 2 weeks.
I often take some time alone in a different city with myself whenever I am triggered to go to the next level in my life and #business.
This time and space gives me a peaceful opportunity to self reflect, connect the dots, and tune into my intuition + inspiration.
My initial days came up on the surface while reliving my journey. This piece of writing is inspired by the thoughts and feelings that followed.
What would I do differently if I was just starting all over again?
Yes. I so much honour my journey of highs and lows, and have no regrets about anything that I lived and experienced.
But I can still talk about it to inspire my fellow corporate people especially #women being a woman in the corporate workspace.
:1: Trust your Natural Gifts over the noise of the people who know nothing about you.
We often look outside of ourselves for advice and inspiration. The truth is that we just know the answers within our own gut.
I started my career in IT just to follow the crowd because back then the IT industry was too hot to get into. It was looked upon as a highly lucrative career.?
And I was a creative and intuitive person. Technology was not my cup of coffee.?
But as like most of you, as I spent a lot of years and heaps of money in my education, I felt invested. And then, I had to survive doing that.?
I am born to thrive, so to survive is not my nature, and I changed my career path (a few times) to finally find what is based on my natural gifts and passions.
So, It’s okay to experiment a few careers before you land the one that you are born for. Always keep yourself open to listen to your heart. It always tells you the truth. And then be brave enough to follow through.
:2: Always have courage to speak your truth.
Never say or do anything to fit in, or please anyone. Have courage to speak your truth.?
I personally know a lot of corporate people who would move mountains just to please their bosses. And I have been one in my early career days.
And the funny fact is that even those bosses know that’s totally fake and made up.
Say what feels right and honest. Communicate true opinions fearlessly but of course, politely and compassionately.
If you don’t like something, say that. And when you like something, say that too.
Never say 'Yes' when you want to say 'No', or 'No' when you want to say 'Yes!?
Your honesty is the most precious gift that you can give to yourself and others.
:3: Respect and value yourself first and the most.
When you don’t value and respect yourself, no one else will.
I have been there for ages where I was putting everyone on pedestal, and myself the last. And no wonder everyone around was taking me for a toss.
We often blame our #toxic (work) environment, but do you really think that leaving a toxic place would not lead you to another similar one unless you heal yourself first for this toxicity.
The projector that’s running the movie outside of us is inside our own head.

You will see the same movie wherever you go until your projector lens doesn’t change.
And it starts with being accepting and kind to yourself first.
The world will see you exactly the way you see yourself.
It happens energetically of course. What’s that word? Yes. Behind the scenes..
:4: Never limit yourself to what you think is possible.
You know your limits based on what you have seen, experienced and told.
The fact is that there’s much more beyond that which we don’t even think is possible.
In my coaching programs, I make clients do a lot of clarity work around vision.
And this vision does not have to be limited by what they think is possible. Go wild with your imagination.
Never get caught in the trap of rules and beliefs of society. It’s okay to break rules, and make your own.
:5: Shed that extra responsibility off.
As women, we take a lot of responsibility on our shoulders. We try to solve every problem for everyone. We tend to nurture others at our own cost.
They may be your family, friends or #workplace connections.?
No wonder they get comfortable with us doing too much for them.
In my opinion, it’s being cruel to ourselves.
Do your best keeping your sanity, and let people find their own solutions their way.
We can’t be responsible for everything and everyone.
They are here to live their life, and learn along the way.
When we overdeliver, overprotect, or over nurture, we are not letting them learn their lessons and live their life.
We actually learn this behaviour at a very early age, but this is the time to withdraw to the extent it doesn't exhaust us.
Never Forget.

I would love to personally support you in your corporate growth journey!
