5 Need to Know Facebook Features To Use for 2021 For Your Business

What will Facebook look like for marketing your products and services in 2021 and beyond?

1. Micro Content

Facebook is all about the stories!

If you haven’t noticed, Facebook and Instagram are making Stories their prime area to bring your attention to. 

Having it at the top of the screen, it’s prime positioning on the screen to encourage you to view and add yourself.

The great thing about Stories using micro content is it’s short and sweet, less pressure and lightweight.

As marketers, it’s a great way to show more of you as a person, the behind the scenes, a mixture of business and personal and interact way more with your audience.

One big thing is the engagement that they encourage you to use - stickers.

People love to touch their phones so utilise the tools to add onto your stories:-

  • Polls
  • Sliders
  • Questions
  • Quiz

People can’t help themselves but touch and engage so it’s a great way to get more interaction which in turn takes it into your Messenger to strike up more conversations!

Story Ads are also on the rise so make custom content for the Story placement and test it out!

2. Video

Video has been king for a while now and it’s not going anywhere soon!

It is still the quickest way to connect to your audience and vice versa.

Video feeds have the highest click-through rate on both Facebook and Instagram so having your videos in that video feed will help more people click to watch and engage with you.

Live video gets 6x more engagement so if you’re not using it yet, yo’re missing out.

A tiny % of people on Facebook are using the Live video feature giving you a big opportunity to get some of the visibility.

3. Hashtags

Maybe an odd one, but Facebook are finally doing more with Hashtags next year. They will be giving posts more organic reach if they include certain keyword hashtags and even creating a hashtag feed.

If organic methods are your jam, then consider choosing a few core hashtags and see how it affects your organic reach.

4. Messaging

Unsurprisingly, Facebook wants us to connect with each other - it is a social platform after all.

Messaging is still going to be a top contender for the platform and with the use of things such as Stories, having all responses go into Messenger, those 2 things combined make for a powerful way to build relationships with your followers and turn them into leads and customers too.

5. Live Shopping

Finally, a super cool new feature that is being tested is Live Shopping.

Think QVC for Facebook!

Imagine doing a Live video and having an actual feature to bring up your products on screen with an easy way to buy.

I’m not sure how it will look but from what I’m told, it will be a little card that will be shown either on screen or in the comments.

Great for physical products but can also equally be used for digital/service based products too.

Instagram already has the Shopping feature on the platform to link photos and linked products together for easy shopping.

Facebook is testing this too so we’ll see when it comes out and have some fun testing it.

In the meantime, BeLive.tv which is what I used in my video has a similar feature which I showcased in my Live video.

A super cool feature that could be so powerful.

It has some other awesome features, but particularly for selling products, it’s there now.

So those are the 2021 trends coming...

I'm sure there are more to come with Clubhouse taking things by storm and TikTok, you know how Facebook like to make their own version to watch this space!

See which 1 or 2 you might look at incorporating or focusing more of your time and effort on.

It will help you be seen more as Facebook is giving them more air space and also helps you to stay ahead of the curve.
