5 Nanotech Companies to Watch
Small stuff matters. ??
When we look forward and plan our route to a better future for the planet, healthcare and wellbeing - Nanotechnology is quickly coming to the forefront as the small but mighty force behind igniting global change.
What is Nanotechnology?
Nanotechnology refers to the branch of science and engineering devoted to designing, producing, and using structures, devices, and systems by manipulating atoms and molecules at nanoscale, i.e. having one or more dimensions of the order of 100 nanometres (100 millionth of a millimetre) or less.
So, why is nanotech so important?
Huge advances are being made around the globe, from sustainable innovations to cures for cancer, all thanks to nanotechnology. Reducing scale means we can be more targeted, energy and material efficient and cost-effective in the new innovative solutions we are bringing into the world.
Here's 5 Nanotechnology Companies doing great stuff in 2023
PlanetCare is developing a microfiber filter to be integrated in washing machines that can capture microplastics before they are released in wastewater.
"The PlanetCare Filter is a simple, yet efficient filter for removing microfibers from washing machine wastewater. The central part of the system is microfiltration of water based on electrically charged fibers and membrane nano-technology with a self-cleaning function." - Circular Change
"In addition, they wish to launch a PlantCare digital platform, to build a strong community of environmentally conscious users and to connect washing machine producers, end users and environment-friendly solutions in fashion and textile industry."

HydroPel is a unique nanomaterial treatment for pipelines and tanks to make them safe for H2 transportation and storage.
When exposed to H2, steel is at risk of a phenomenon called ‘hydrogen embrittlement’ that occurs when H2 molecules diffuse into steel, creating brittleness that leads to cracks, leaks, and failures.
Sixfold is working on a siRNA technology called Mergo, which it aims to prove can deliver siRNAs to cancer cells within specific organs while leaving healthy tissues alone.
This breakthrough nanotechnology will allow for highly targetted and complex treatment of cancer with massive reduction of side effects and complications for the patients.
"We’re solving delivery to build the future of RNA therapies. Inspired by evolution, perfected with AI."

We're nanoscientists, engineers and entrepreneurs: a team and technology built to eliminate emissions at scale.
Ammonia is a building block to our lives, precursor to half of global food, a key to a cleaner future of food and fuel. But the Ammonia we make today is dirty
- The most polluting chemical industrial process on the planet.
- 96% of it depends on the century-old Haber-Bosch process, and relies on burning fossil fuels.
Our patent pending, 'Green Ammonia on Demand' system provides a scalable, efficient, effective, alternative. We reduce the pressure, temperature and overall energy in ammonia catalysis, removing the need for fossil fuels.
We can eliminate fertiliser emissions, 1.4%, 450 megatonnes of CO2 annually.
We can eliminate a further 3% of maritime CO2 emissions by using green ammonia to power ships, instead of fossil fuels. *All while giving a versatile vector to green hydrogen energy as we race to decarbonise energy, steel, aviation and other critical industrial processes.
We decouple ammonia production from these fossil plants. Using renewable power and our novel nanocatalyst, we synthesise ammonia at a fraction of the price and pollution of traditional Haber-Bosch.
Green ammonia on demand at the fraction of the cost or energy needed. ??
