5 myths about DevOps

Empowering Technology with Academic Insight: Bridging Advanced .NET Development and Cutting-Edge Research as a PhD Candidate at Czech Technical University
In the article I tried to break some popular myths about DevOps and mostly of them are nightmares for a lot of developers. If you worry about Windows Servers (Crowdsrtike update was about 2 weeks ago) or have a wet-back after words like fedora, Ubuntu, you are on the right way.
I am a dot net developer, but on the current project I am responsible for Infrastructure like Windows Server and an instance of MSSQL Server, and I can say it is not so easy to follow developer and production environments, and I can celebrate each successful deployment. At the same time I am a PhD student and for my research I use primarily R, but for visualization I can’t find anything better than asp. Net. And as a result, I have 2 two different projects where I wanted to apply DevOps practice.
Today we have any information what we want, and sometimes more than we need to solve a problem or to form an opinion, and my first source of information was YouTube. I watched firstly shorts videos in case to learn about #DevOps as quickly as possible, but unfortunately many of them were like “click here and then here, and you will get …”. ?After a few days I changed my strategy and I turned to read articles, and finally I found an excellent book written by Gene Kim et. The Phoenix Project. I really liked the book because it was easy to read and style of book remembered me another “must-read” book, The Goal, written by Eliyahu Goldratt. After the book, I was an enthusiast who wanted immediately to apply new knowledge in my team, but I worry about 2 things. First, I wasn’t sure about what I read, in other words I right understood it or not. Second, what is my first step? Luckily, I found a solution, it was DevOps Institute!
DEVOPS INSTITUTE has a lot of different certifications and in my opinion, it is the best way to check your knowledge and I choose DevOps Foundation. Thanks to 埃森哲 I could participate the training. The training DevOps Foundation takes 3 days, and it is online training. All materials I got few days before and carefully read it as an excellent student (if a teacher asks something I wanted first rise may hand). Our trainer was Rajiv K Dua and last 15 years he works in consulting and his presentations skills on a very high level. I attended many training courses, but mostly were based on reading some points from popular books or articles. For 3 days I was really encouraged, because DevOps is another thing than I imagined, and the main purpose of the article is breaking these myths. Let’s go do it together.
1.?????? DevOps is not a role. I thought that a person who during the day writes code, and in the night deploys it.
2.?????? DevOps is a team game, not for one person. For right implement it you need to collaborate.
3.?????? Don’t exist a universal solution for all companies/teams. It is wonderful, you can find your own way, and make it better than Amazon or Netflix.

4.?????? Small steps, long path. Don’t need to throw away ITIL or SCRUM. All work together and you can do it with small changes.
5.?????? It is not so hard to implement it. Many reviews have unsuccessful stories, but in my opinion first need to find agreement in the whole company, before doing anything.
These are key points I got during excellent 3 days training, now I have strong knowledge about DevOps, and this is mainly because we had an excellent trainer Rajiv K Dua . The training was in easy-going presentation and during it, we were able to answer questions. Of course, case studies are helpful and show strengths of DevOps in informational technology.
For all practitioners, I can say never stop learning and apply new knowledge in your job.
Happy Deployment,
?
