Inspiration could be from in many forms right? For some its books, for some its personalities and for some its movies. Story telling no doubt has always been a motivator either through movies or through books to us to make us see life in different light giving us that extra push that we need in life.
For me it’s always been movies which has given me a fresh perspective on a problem I have been mulling over or a mood changer for sure! Here are my favourite set of movies which I would recommend each of us to watch to brighten up life and enjoy it to the fullest.
1. The Pursuit of Happyness
Struggle in life is inevitable, be it professionally or personally right? But do we fight with a will to overcome it successfully? Answer maybe a Yes or a No. This real life story is a must watch for every one of those who is feeling demotivated with their lives now so that they can appreciate the little things in life.
Story line: Chris Gardner is a bright and talented, but marginally employed salesman. Struggling to make ends meet, Gardner finds himself and his five-year-old son evicted from their San Francisco apartment with nowhere to go. When Gardner lands an internship at a prestigious stock brokerage firm, he and his son endure many hardships, including living in shelters, in pursuit of his dream of a better life for the two of them.
Quotes which inspire me:
“The world is your oyster. It's up to you to find the pearls.”
“Don't ever let someone tell you, you can't do something. Not even me. You got a dream, you got to protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you you can’t do it. You want something, go get it. Period.”
2. The Wolf of Wall street
How far we go to achieve success? Is the saying 'words can change the world' true? Watch it to believe it - especially the Sales force team
Story line: The story of New York stockbroker Jordan Belfort. From the American dream to corporate greed, Belfort goes from penny stocks and righteousness to IPOs and a life of corruption in the late 80s. Excess success and affluence in his early twenties as founder of the brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont warranted Belfort the title "The Wolf of Wall Street."
Quotes which inspire me:
"The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullshit story you keep telling yourself as to why you can't achieve it.”
3. October Sky
All every dreamer needs is opportunity and trust on their ideas and someone to back them up, if the bell is ringing in your head - go watch it!
Story line: Though his father is mine superintendent and has no greater wish than to see his sons follow in his footsteps, Homer embarks on a mission to build and launch his own homemade rockets with the help of his loyal band of friends. Though their frequent mistakes nearly get them shut down, their successes inspire the whole town to believe that miracles can happen even in Coalwood, and there's nothing wrong with shooting for the stars.
Quotes which inspire me:
"Sometimes you really can't listen to what anybody else says. You just gotta listen inside."
4. The Aviator
What is perfection and obsession in work? If you really want to know how far entrepreneur can go to build best product, watch this. Note: Even it has message on what not to do while focusing so much.
Story line: A biopic depicting the early years of legendary director and aviator Howard Hughes career, from the late 1920s to the mid-1940s.
Quotes which inspire me:
"Don't tell me I can't do it; don't tell me it can't be done!"
5. Peaceful Warrior
Always think clearly not deeply, focusing on life we miss out the real joy of life. This movie will remind you about that. As one of the quote goes 'Its the journey not the destination that counts'
Story line: A chance encounter with a stranger changes the life of a college gymnast.
Quotes which inspire me:
