5 must reads for your weekend
This week we round up the best insights from EY people working with clients on some of the most challenging transformation issues of the day.
1.???Making the case for data sharing
“52% of people feel it’s ok to use personal data to help track and prevent disease and 59% would let their DNA be analysed to improve their personal health,” Arnauld Bertrand highlights in his February blog. He continues: “These findings suggest that, by making a strong case for sharing, and by increasing trust, governments can convince people that their personal information is being used – safely – for the good of themselves and their fellow citizens.”
2.???Can hybrid working really work?
“Yes, of course it can, but only if we put in place the behaviours, processes and structures that will make it work,” Errol Gardner says. “It’s important to emphasise that effective hybrid working doesn’t just happen. Like any other change to working practices, it needs to be carefully thought through and planned for, and then sensitively implemented.”

4.???What if the cost of learning is driven down to zero?
In her latest blog, Catherine Friday asks us to: “imagine that learning and gaining qualifications in 2030 is as convenient as shopping or banking in 2021.” She also asks what if, like an online music library, “at the touch of a screen, you access catalogues of learning content from the best providers in the world.”
5.???A wake-up call
82% of CEOs identify environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues as extremely important or important, when it comes to strategic decision-making. Andrea Guerzoni highlights recent findings from the EY CEO Outlook 2022 in his latest blog. ?In response to the survey, he says that “CEOs should reinforce their narrative with attention on critical growth and innovations that will enable and accelerate their ESG journey.”
If you do one thing:
Be strategic. Apply insightful and strategic thought whether it’s in decisions made for your business or in thinking about your own career path.
