Watermelon sugar high
When I was a kid, this was my favorite feast to celebrate. Not because it is a holiday in our country but because of the amount of sugar we have for the sake of celebration. I don’t know it is related to our taste buds or the quality or the material they use making it but even I am free to consume anything, it is basically not the same taste as it was. Speaking of the devil we are gonna talk about sugar today.
I am addicted to you.
Many of us know by now that sugar is addictive to our body. The amount we consume rises the amount we crave more and more.
But have you wonder why? Let’s have a look at how it works for our bodies and why.
The human brain requires glucose, which is a type of sugar, to function properly. Glucose is the primary source of energy for the brain, and it is necessary for the brain to carry out various functions such as thinking, learning, and memory formation.
When we eat foods that contain carbohydrates, such as bread, pasta, and fruits, our body breaks down these carbohydrates into glucose. This glucose is then transported to the brain through the bloodstream, where it is used as a source of energy.
However, it's important to note that the brain doesn't need excessive amounts of sugar to function optimally. Consuming too much sugar can actually be harmful to the brain and can lead to health problems such as obesity and type 2 diabetes.
%20 percent of everything
Based on the information from research we know that our brains use %20 of our energy requirements. That leaves us with the information about our brain is getting most of the work done in our daily lives.
But if that’s the case why do we gain weight? Is there a possibility that burning calories by just thinking?
The first questions answer is easy. We get more than we need. The excess amount of sugar stores as fat and that gives us the unwanted look and can cause huge amount of health problems.
Here is a great example about the relationship between sugar, and its sources;
The answer is yes for the second question but let’s dig a little further.

The higher the quality the higher the calorie burn
We talked about brains work above know take a look at the quality of the work. Research show that when we do simple daily routine tasks in our daily lives our brains tend to use less calories than when we do new activities for example learning new language discover something we never experienced before. During this kind of tasks our brains consume more energy but when we think of overall energy consumption this is probably had the less effect on this.

Not just to eat but to sweet
Apart from our need in sugar we use it in our daily lives for another purpose, compliment.
Using sugar as a compliment is a common cultural practice in many societies. One reason why sugar is often used in this way is that it has a sweet taste that many people find pleasant. When we eat something sweet, our brain releases chemicals such as dopamine and serotonin, which can make us feel good and satisfied.
Additionally, sugar has historically been a luxury item that was difficult and expensive to obtain. In many cultures, sugar was reserved for special occasions or used as a reward for good behavior. As a result, consuming sugar was associated with positive feelings and experiences, which may have contributed to its use as a compliment.
Furthermore, offering someone something sweet, like a dessert or candy, can be seen as a gesture of kindness and generosity. Sharing food has long been a way for humans to show care and build social bonds, and offering something sweet can be a way to enhance these social connections.
Let’s sugarcoat the pill
We all have our challenges in our lives to cope with so I believe there is no harm to sugarcoat a little bit.
Wish us all pleasant, sweet and delightful Friday y’all!
