In the book Thinking Fast and Slow, Nobel prize winner Daniel Kahneman describes the different types of bias and heuristics that go into decision-making. He explains the way humans think and gives important insight into the reasons why we trust our thinking patterns. This is a great book to read if you are interested in understanding why people make certain decisions and what factors affect the decision-making process.

Brené Brown’s Unlocking Us Podcast episode ‘Living Into Our Values’ discusses how to find your values, how to understand why they are important, and discovering ways to live in line with our values. If you are interested in this topic, Acre Frameworks has a learning pod dedicated to understanding and leading with your values.
Something to know…
Spain has now banned single-use plastic packaging for fruit and vegetables in supermarkets which will help to reduce it by two million tonnes - half of which normally ends up in landfill. Starting in 2023, this is an initiative which many European countries have already begun to take on board.
Something to consider…
NotPla, a sustainable packaging start-up were recently awarded the Earthshot Prize, winning a ￡1 million grant from the Royal Foundation. NotPla won because they created an alternative to plastic made from seaweed and plants, which can be used to create a range of packaging products - thereby reducing the need for single-use plastic. The founders are truly inspirational – read more about them here.
In late 2020, Acre partnered with NotPla to hire a Commercial Director and since then we have brought in several other leaders to the business.
