5 Mindful Musings, September 6, 2024

Dear Friends,

Here is your weekly dose of "5 Mindful Musings", a brief list of what's helping me live a more mindful life.

WHAT I'M EXPLORING

Leading Retreats In El Salvador . Dianna from Mizata Antiresort invited me to lead a retreat for our Mindfulness Exercises community. Since many of you are also mindfulness and meditation teachers, I thought I'd share this interesting opportunity to lead your own retreats here, too. :)

"Sean, I love what you’re doing I feel like you are the perfect vibe for our resort. I would love to invite you to check out our space if you’re considering leading retreats. We actually have a team of dedicated retreat design consultants so we would be with you every step of the way.

I'm a retreat design consultant at our hotel @visitmizata by @antiresort, and over the past three years, I've had the privilege of crafting transformative experiences for over 42 retreats.

Our 5-star hotel offers organic restaurants, oceanfront yoga shala, sauna, cold plunge, temazcal, jungle gym, indoor & outdoor workshop places, and three pools. But it's not just about the amenities. As the safest country in Latin America, it provides a secure and welcoming environment for your retreat attendees. And with affordable airfare, stunning beaches, and perfect weather year-round, it's the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.

If you are interested, let's schedule a meeting to discuss how we can tailor a retreat experience that exceeds your expectations and send you more information. Let me know your thoughts, and let's embark on this journey together!

WHO I'M GRATEFUL FOR

Alejandra from Language Alchemy .

As a communication coach, Alejandra brings presence, insight and care to our 1:1 coaching calls, evoking deeper self-awareness of my communication patterns with the people who matter most to me (including myself). She's also helping me feel more safe and connected, more mature and responsible, and more compassionate to myself and others. While I feel that my communication methods have always been decent / good, I knew there was room for growth. We all have blind spots. Alejandra has been a wonderful guide, helping me communicate with more clarity, humanity, patience and connection.

WHAT WE JUST IMPROVED

How to Teach Mindfulness With Confidence & Credibility . In this free 90-minute online event, I share what I've learned teaching mindfulness and meditation in business, healthcare, retreat centers, coaching programs, yoga studios, and Buddhist monasteries, including how to:

  • teach mindfulness without imposter syndrome
  • lead a variety of meditations online & in person
  • be trauma-sensitive without being trauma-focused
  • grow your career and professional offerings
  • be practical, relevant and most effective
  • increase your credibility while helping others

To thank you for coming, I'll share 50 guided meditation scripts with you at the end. You can register here before we reach our maximum capacity.

WHAT I AM EXCITED ABOUT

Weekly Creative Clusters using Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way” and Merideth Hite Estevez’s “The Artist’s Joy”. I've been opening to my 'creative' side more and more lately, so I'm excited to join these weekly Zoom calls for inspiration, connection and accountability.??

"Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting your creative journey, this group is designed to help you:

  • Discover a sustainable and joyful artistic practice
  • Connect with your core values and find deeper meaning in your work
  • Break free from the "tortured artist" stereotype
  • Engage with Merideth’s book in a supportive and enriching environment for FREE with the author
  • Join us in September to embark on a journey toward a joyful and meaningful artistic life"

A POEM I LOVE

Too Lazy To Be Ambitious

Too lazy to be ambitious,

I let the world take care of itself.

Ten days' worth of rice in my bag;

a bundle of twigs by the fireplace.

Why chatter about delusion and enlightenment?

Listening to the night rain on my roof,

I sit comfortably, with both legs stretched out.

- Ryokan

I hope these musings find you well,

Sean Fargo
